@LiamSimard@FWD_CA No. Under the current voting model, third party *candidates* always spoil even if they get a large following. Fwd party is advocating on *solutions* to that problem and promoting candidates that agree with those solutions, regardless of party. Therefore they aren't spoiling.
@Beyond2Parties @UtahRCV The opposite problem exists with Approval Voting. Weight the pros and cons and give a fact-based analysis but don't make it seem like RCV is worse than status quo. Improve RCV: Run more candidates. Use a Borda Elimination to remove the truly unpopular candidate.
Ranking additional candidates as your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. choices IS NOT detrimental to your 1st choice. All 1st-choice votes are tallied in the initial round. Only if your 1st-choice is eliminated will your 2nd, 3rd, or later rankings come into play! #RankedChoiceVoting#UtahRCV
What if we could rank numerous candidates rather than selecting just one least bad choice? How would you rank these hypothetical parties? #RCV#RankedChoiceVoting
