Born in the 1840s, Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana, revered as a powerful spirit medium, led her people in a fierce struggle against the brutal forces of British colonisation in Zimbabwe. She inspired the Shona and Ndebele warriors to rise up, to fight with everything they had against the colonisers who had stolen their land and enslaved their people.
Her leadership during the First Chimurenga made her a target of the colonial regime, which feared the power she held over the hearts and minds of her people. In 1898, Nehanda was captured by the British and subjected to a sham trial, where she was sentenced to death by hanging. Even as they prepared to take her life, Nehanda refused to submit.
Her execution was meant to break the spirit of resistance, but instead, it immortalised her as a martyr for the cause of African liberation. Her prophecy, "My bones will rise again," foretold the fight for freedom that would ignite long after her death, and lead to the liberation of Zimbabwe.
@ElPatron350@S_Harudzibwi Perhaps you can find common ground with number 2 and work together to achieve your goals. By supporting each other, you both have the potential to reach the top.
💥Today I spoke about how The human rights conversation in Africa must find itself in the fulfillment of the Pan African dream and its promise on the dignity of the African and delivery of public goods. I spoke on how youth must continue to fight to rebuild new narratives around who is a Pan African. Those who murder fellow Africans, those who build systems that manufacture poverty for other Africans through corruption and those sell the continent to foreign interests are not pan Africans even if they purport to be. Additionally, I insisted of the double nexus for African activists which include to fight for human rights locally but also to fight for human rights in the global order to ensure decolonization and addressing historical injustices are central in our struggle for human rights! @CHR_HumanRights@UPTuks@weleadteam
The first move to destroy the families in Zimbabwe happened after colonialism with the pass laws, reserves and single hostels.
Men allowed to come into Harare (Salisbury) as glorified batchulars with their families banned from entering. Dad was seen once or twice a year in the Reserves with groceries.
We only see the effects of this in the 1990s, when a new mass family extinction was starting.
There is a reason China , Russia etc banned the world wide web, MTV etc. Ideology and culture can't be preserved when other nations with more money are waging nuclear cultural wars.
No African should pay for a Netflix account. With durations, YouTube should be banned. 🤣. Tiktok is so evil the Chinese government has totally banned the version you see. What they are propagating has nothing to do with us, and they want our children. Gadgets are convenient cheap baby sitters.
Peppa Pig isn't written to give your kids hunhu ana cultural values or pride.
In Shandustan, we will have to plan 50 yrs in advance and grow local solutions for US. Ideology will have to be agreed and we will have to firewall our children and communities from external warfare.
Hard decisions will need to be made to stop the mental gentrification and cultural annihilation that will be impossible to reverse if things stay the same.
We should be ashamed of being concurred by black fizz sugar water as a sign of our civilization, as we watch type 2 diabetes decemate our kin folk when we have so much real food.
Anyways. Let's do a space soon.
Yesterday the most powerful rocket ever built, Starship safely lifted off and went beyond its previous exploration.
Starship is owned by @elonmusk’s @SpaceX.
This is about opportunities availed to one by his immediate environment.
Many kids in America are talking about yesterday’s lift off because their environment allows them to know about these things, and to be curious too.
If Elon had not left South Africa, do you think that he would have been involved with all these things great inventions like Rockets, Tesla, Paypal, X and so on?
Ask yourself this question, what type of conversations are happening today on this Sunday in your social circle?
Those are the conversations that will shape your understanding of the world and your ability to contribute meaningfully to it.
Don’t get angry when others demand better conversations with you than the ones that you are accustomed to.
You see, our depth is measured by what we read and subject ourselves to.
Like food to your body, books nourish your mind.
The leadership that we choose or is chosen for us determines our environment through government.
How many ministers in your governments across Africa do you think noticed yesterday’s lift off and are talking about it today and actually understand the meaning of these things to firstly America, and why it funds these things, and the effect such technology has on us and how we relate with America?
Africa remains backward today because it is comfortable in its mediocrity and insatiable desire to own nice things like Teslas and iPhones without wanting to work for them, or finding out how it can be part of the world that creates them.
Some of the biggest deposits of tin, tantalum, tungsten and Gold are found in SADC in the DRC, here in Africa.
But some of the most poorest people in the world are found there too.
Here in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 we have of Gold, but the political elites ships it to Dubai through smuggling!
But here we are oblivious to the things that made Apple the richest company in the world through technology and research.
We use its products, we have the minerals that made those products, but we have leaders that have failed to create an environment conducive for us to do well.
That is why @elonmusk would never had made it on the continent, it is the environment that made him, and it is smart leadership that created that environment.
What do you think SADC leaders discuss when they meet, what do you think they discuss at the African Union?
You see, a continent with so much wealth had its own African Union headquarters built by China.
It is the equivalent of a man sleeping with his wife on a bed bought by another man for him and given as a gift.
Two things will happen, the giver of that gift will lose respect for that man, and his wife will lose all respect she had for him.
These are just facts, I am creating opinions.
The gift giver will lose respect for that man because he sees how daft he is failing to buy his own bed when is surrounded by so much wealth which he gives away for a song.
Now, how many times have you read a different book this year, it is a nice way of saying that I am asking you; how many books have you read this year?
If you think that it is too late for you, it is never late, it will help you choose the right company in your social circles, and choose the right leaders who will create a better world for your children’s future.
Why should the current African leaders care about your children’s future if you don’t?
