It's clear to me that AI won't replace artists. As always, artists capable of staying relevant will adapt, using AI if necessary, & make profitable work. Otherwise, the real ones will keep making art anyway, and will find other ways to contribute to society in addition. (5/5)

#CBC #TheNational's conversation on #AI was an interesting one. I was stricken, as an #Artist and #Writer myself, how entitled the artists on the panel seemed to their jobs as they currently exist - but consider the oil & gas worker; their industry has also had to adapt... (1/5)

If I'm lucky & work hard it might be profitable, which is how it's always been, in my lifetime anyway. Society's growth comes before the comfort & relevance of any given trade, even art. We just saw an example of how unions can protect artists in the #WGA #strike, anyway (4/5)

Just took my first fencing class since my teens, & after lesson one I'm already drawing so many parallels between it & #SmashBros: spacing, threat range, openings, mindset... Easy to imagine why Tao of Jeet Kune Do & the Inner Game of Tennis are so useful to smashers
