@TatianaREdwards Yes, be more inclusive in the community of your tutors. Tutoring is a very wide skill set, and the "best writers" aren't always the best tutors.
#wcchat I feel this way a lot. If you are talking about the national/regional community, it would be the first NCPTW conference I attended many years ago.
#wcchat this year we have helped the first graders with their books, the eighth graders with their NDH papers, and some fifth graders at the school down the block with their standardized writing assessments
#wcchat I think community involvement is key. Both in terms of building a community within your writing center and then reaching out to different constituencies on campus. It has been an area of focus for us this year.
#wcchat I think the community looks on the center as a valuable resource. Admissions see us as value added and the students see us as a go-to resource although they don't always get around to actually utilizing it. A few students see it as vital.
