This is truly poetic in so many ways, with so much foreshadowing to blood chains form.

1. Ichigo first ever utilizing Bankai, showcasing Tensa Zangetsu & at the hilt end of the sword, you see the chain.

2. Being the introduction of the Dangai form with the chain wrap around his arm.

Now within the anime, we’re seeing a new introduction of the Blood Chains form! We all gotta thank Kubo for this.

@shonenkon How did he survive Ichigo's slicing him up with his Bankai tho, I thought he used the Almighty but only saw the Iris when he was getting blitzed

I think after this Yhwach understands that he can't let Ichigo assume this form, so he stops Ichigo mid-transformation by breaking his Zanpakuto and that's how anime will tie back to manga's story.

Goku only attempts to spare those that aren't after destruction because he was not a Ninja nor did he train to kill unlike Naruto, Naruto didn't try to kill anyone not only Orochimaru, he'd even cry and beg them like he dit with Pain, nobody could forgive Pain atp.

@Chi_Chinonyerem I think it's because Renji's power would be useless against him, whereas Rukia could freeze Ywach allowing Ichigo to kill him which was also the plan they put in motion but Ywach was just too powerful at that point Rukia was freezing Ywach even without her Bankai.

@F_viibtmh If this will happen it won't be because of Ichigo's Bankai but because he was about to be killed by Inoue, he handled Ichigo's Bankai pretty well, in the manga I guess it was the Bankai that pushed him to Break he sword, they're probably changing things.

@CapALotDntMiss @grimmatt_ I think she was too heartbroken to think and probably didn't know she could heal something like that, she also didn't think she could heal Grimjow's arm that was cut off and already closed, she's probably gonna heal Kenpachi and the others that can cling to life and wait for her.
