@RSA_Observer Pure speculation, but perhaps Trump told Zelensky to finish the war before the midterms and so he is outwardly appearing to follow Trump's instructions but the tone and content of Zelensky's message is meant to undermine this order?
Thanks! For Simondon, being‑as‑such is the society or milieu – or, as he calls it, the preindividual field – from which "modern man" emerges as being‑as‑individual. While all people, irrespective of their culture, experience permanent change throughout their lives (if for no other reason than age or social status), it is possible that the velocity of becoming is higher in a modern Western society than in a traditional Eastern one. Berman's "bathed in permanent change" aligns exactly with Simondon's concept of a preindividual field; he is remarking on the high velocity of change in the modern Western world.
A more ambitious collaboration with Pio Torroja @piotorroja, weaving together geopolitics, theology, and process philosophy to make sense of the Iran War. Link in first comment.
Extraordinary work @BraudelMarx!
“Mosaic Multipolarity
Mosaic warfare is a microcosm of the emerging multipolar order. The same structural features recur - distributed centres of power, overlapping spheres of influence, a persistent lack of single command - but now at the global scale.
Each state or bloc acts as a partially individuated unit within a broader transindividual field. Their interactions produce ongoing adjustment and reconfiguration. Global coherence persists without a hegemon, sustained by the dynamic interplay of its components.
The Iranian mosaic doctrine is a smaller instantiation of the same pattern. The logic of dispersion, circulation, and metastability repeats across levels - from IRGC tactical units to regional alignments like BRICS to the emerging multipolar constellation. The underlying structure of immanence remains legible throughout.
The theological solution of the Major Occultation - a hidden centre effective through distributed circulation - has become the strategic reality of the twenty-first century. To fight such a system on the battlefield is to engage a field with no single evil doer to decapitate. To confront it globally is to face a world where no external will can dictate universal outcomes.
The Iranian mosaic has so far survived decapitation and is systematically shattering the Mosaic worldview's tablets. The detritus of unipolarity is reconfiguring as a field of distributed authority - a multipolar mosaic whose cohesion arises from the interstitial tensions between its fragments.”
@RSA_Observer Iran might respond that they are waiting for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Yemen to recognize Israel first!
He's 100% a true Marxist. Declaring a max on wealth is an attempt to reform capitalism, which according to Marx would only delay the onset of Communism. Marx predicted that under capitalism wealth would concentrate so much so that eventually the proletariat would become universal.
Exactly. No one would deny that Sweden's "Folkhem" system was "socialist" yet the idea of the nation as a family was based on the German Volksgemeinschaft idea. The primary difference was that this national family based socialism requires a high degree of homogeneity, which Sweden in the 1920-30's had while Germany was more diverse.
@RSA_Observer@RKelanic My guess is that many Trump voters never really had a home in either party and so their disgust is reflected in the independent category. This means the overall number of Republicans is shrinking and the party is reverting back to its Bush - Romney - McCain factory settings.
@RSA_Observer During the previous kinetic phase Iran fired on and sank several ships within the Persian Gulf. To be honest even today the US doesn't intervene close to the strait, they normally wait until the shipping is far away before acting
@RSA_Observer During the kinetic phase the blockade is easier because the US can warn and then sink any offending shipping. They can use submarines to attack Iranian ships while maintaining their surface assets at a safe distance
@LisaLiel Yes, this is super clear in the Book of Joshua. The point being that Jews are not indigenous to Palestine / Canaan, they are invaders / settlers.
According to the Torah itself – specifically the Book of Joshua – the Israelites come from outside Palestine. They enter Canaan as invaders from across the Jordan River. Jews, following their own dogma, are not indigenous to Israel.
The book opens with Joshua leading the people into a land already full of walled cities, kings, and established populations: Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites. The inhabitants treat them as foreign enemies, never as returning relatives. The Israelites seize a territory where they have no prior history. They cross a river that miraculously parts, and that miracle serves an invasion. A homecoming would look entirely different.
The first major battle is Jericho. The walls fall, and the city faces total destruction – every man, woman, and child. Only Rahab, a Canaanite who hides Israelite spies, survives. The narrative describes the outright conquest of a people already living there, the opposite of a liberation of an indigenous population.
Later, a coalition of five Amorite kings attacks the Israelite camp. Joshua defeats them, and the book proudly catalogs every captured city and executed king. Chapter 12 lists 31 conquered rulers, from Jericho to the Negev. Every single one ruled a people who occupied that land before Israel arrived.
The Book of Joshua tells a story of armed entry, systematic conquest, and the division of captured territory among the tribes. Divine sanction appears throughout the text, and the narrative remains one of invasion. Indigeneity requires continuous presence from time immemorial. Joshua says the Israelites came from somewhere else and took the land by force.
@pati_marins64 Cancelling the elections implies they mean something. In reality, AIPAC wins each and every US election and so there is no need at all to cancel them.
