In March, Rep. DeGette told her constituents: "If this the only issue [stopping genocide] that you care about, then you should not vote for me"
On June 30, Rep. DeGette was unseated by @MelatKirosCO.
Supporting genocide is bad policy and bad politics.
Ireland has been strongly supportive of Ukraine throughout all the years of Russia’s war against our independence. Despite the country’s neutral status, Ireland has not remained neutral in its feelings. I thanked Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD for this during our meeting in Dublin.
We discussed Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union over the next six months. During this period, Ukraine hopes to open five clusters and make substantive progress in the negotiations. We also need to take additional steps in security cooperation, primarily regarding a European anti-ballistic program.
Today, we began discussions with Ireland on cooperation in the field of drones. I proposed to Ireland our Drone Deal format, which allows for the establishment of direct and effective cooperation on the most advanced technologies tested in war.
We also discussed additional sanctions steps against Russia that could help bring a real end to this war closer. Thank you, Ireland!

According to Palestinian reports, a 23-year-old mother and her 1-year-old baby were killed in a strike on a camp housing displaced people in Khan Yunis. A second-grader was also killed in Deir al-Balah, the Palestinian Education Ministry said https://t.co/Z612dcy76g
🎥 Recalling how she was fired from her law firm after refusing to remove a letter defending pro-Palestinian student protesters, Melat Kiros said, “I didn’t flinch because I stood by every word and I always will.”
She added: “I know that will not be the only moment where those in power will tell me to change my tune, to not rock the boat. That seems to happen a lot in Congress, but here in Denver we stand by our values and we stand with our community.”
Democratic socialist Melat Kiros declared victory after defeating 15-term incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado’s Democratic primary tonight.
“Denver voters of all ages, of all races, of all religions sent a clear message: We will not wait.”
Democratic socialist Melat Kiros beat U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette in a Colorado House primary, a stunning victory for the first-time candidate against a nearly 30-year incumbent.
