What It Takes to Deliver Under Pressure
Lions Head Coach Andy Farrell sets the tone, it’s not just about tactics or talent. It’s about resilience when it matters most.
He introduces a powerful message from the incomparable Katie Taylor, who speaks with raw honesty about performance anxiety, the myth of a “right to win,” and the deep inner battle every athlete must face.
Katie prepares to win by skill, but she’s always ready to win by will.
The trenches aren’t a metaphor for her. They’re part of her process.
A masterclass in mindset from one of Ireland’s greatest.

We want our players to be solution-finders who create advantages in the run of play.
Numerical Advantage
Positional Advantage
Qualitative Advantage
If we create 2 of 3, our chances of success increase. When we create all 3, that’s when the goal-scoring magic happens. 🖤💛
Relentless Effort. It’s all about you. Only you can control the effort you give.
For programs and organizations, it’s about us. Block out the outside noise, put your head down and go to work.
I was at a place a few years back with enormous expectations on the football season. Expectations put on by the outside. We had to constantly remind them that it’s all about us. It was a constant reminder that you can only control the work you put in, and nothing outside of those walls mattered. Those kids constantly chose to put their head down and go to work. They didn’t let what other people were saying dictate how they showed up and the work they put in everyday. They weren’t fazed if they got down in a game. The work & the process didn’t change.
It’s the Mamba Mentality. It’s the refusal to look at the scoreboard. It’s the idea that you’re gonna relentlessly pursue to become the best you can, knowing that you will never actually get there. It’s striving to be better than you were yesterday. It’s believing that the process will bring results.
Control what you can control. Attack each day and each task with relentless effort. Refuse to be out worked by anyone. Empty the Tank!

Success is earned in the struggle.
You have to be willing to embrace adversity.
Adversity isn't a roadblock - it's the path.

“You have to be resilient, not everything’s always going to go your way. Keep battling, keep battling. Try to block out the scoreboard, whatever has happened has no bearing on what’s going to happen. Whatever has happened in the past bad or good, you’ve got to play the next play,” Matt LaFleur
