College is essentially a walkable city with good infrastructure, full of civilians working toward self-betterment. There's still a respect for expertise and facts, as well as community and forgiveness. Leaving that is tough.
BRAINSTORM, outline, rough draft to swap with your classmates, THEN the teacher checked it and THEN it was time for the final draft. the kids are not obtaining any of these critical skills. also the final draft HAD to be in script for certain classes/grades.
everyone is upset by this but it just affirms my belief that they are the most polite and considerate insects. Always tucked away somewhere, pay rent by killing other bugs, and now ur telling me they’re conscious of our business hours…gotta give them their 10s
Not only that. Books help you discover yourself, they illuminate hidden aspects of your personality, help you know what you want to become. They give reassurance and a sense of belonging to lonely, desperate kids, and to see a generation robbed of that is an unthinkable tragedy.
someone at work said that a generation of kids growing up not reading books is a generation of kids not learning how to imagine what it's like to put themselves in someone else's shoes and understand how/why they feel what they do (empathy)
