@HumanityChad There are few heroes, but many heroic acts. People should be praised for their virtuous actions, but the label of hero comes with a lifetime of virtue. Often, heroic acts are done by otherwise awful people. Evil demons, like the covid Nazis, were also called heroes.

@Agenttexes @BoSnerdley All my brothers served (in wartime). Two were severely wounded. They weren't drafted, though - they chose to join the military. We have a volunteer military. Every generation in US history had war. Tell you kids not to join if they don't want to kill or risk getting killed.

@RealMattCouch Unions are a big part of why we lost manufacturing. Take away their legal protections and ability to mandate membership, and maybe our industry will compete, turn a profit AND improve quality. Anyone who's worked around a union knows its a racquet.

@davepl1968 The climate changes. However, human activity is a blip. A little warming will be good for humanity overall, but when the next ice age comes, that's when we need to start worrying. The climate change "crisis" is just a tool for politicians to use to further control and tax us.
