Remember this: reproductive freedom can only be achieved when all women, femmes, girls, trans, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people have the complete economic and social power to make decisions about their lives.
"I am not a maid, I am a reporter for the Washington Post!” - When I first covered stories for the @washingtonpost I had to affirm myself and make sure I stood my ground. To this day, women fight for the right to tell THEIR stories. Don’t let anyone take your power! #motivation

My new oped: Canceling just $10,000 in student debt would be bad public policy and a devastating political mistake. This is Biden's chance to right the wrongs once and for all, and leave behind a memorable legacy of equity and racial and economic justice.

The student loans conversation really shows how evil-minded people can be. If something goes to make other people’s lives easier, they react as if it’s a personal insult to them and really argue that people should be made to suffer unnecessarily.
I’m glad the student loan debt relief will help who it helps.
But it’s okay that we are transparent that this doesn’t help many of us because the compounding interest will recoup the 10k on most debts over a few years time.
BET's documentary, which gave Irv Gotti the opportunity to disrespect Ashanti, is the opposite of protecting Black women. Media must do better and we must hold them to do better. Defending Black women isn't a slogan, it's a priority. https://t.co/Oh6ANEmq3r
BET really gave that man a platform to tell the world what a disgusting human he is?! What happened to “protect Black women?” This is exactly the type of person we need protection from. I pray Ashanti is surrounded by loved ones & safeguarding her peace
“Freedom Dreams: Black Women and the Student Debt Crisis,” profiles Black women struggling under the weight of tens/hundreds of thousands in #studentloandebt. And the documentary is narrated by @ninaturner, a leader in the #studentloanforgiveness fight. https://t.co/YSN1fZXhv1
Today, we're set to hear an announcement from President Biden about student debt cancelation. We don't know what it will be. But before it happens, let's talk for a second about the red square by our name—and why it's there.
Canceling $10,000 in student debt when the average white borrower is $12,000 in debt, while Black women hold on average over $52,000 isn’t just unacceptable, it’s structural racism.
We believe in investing in our community and we need your help to do it! Will you join us for #Give828 in defense of Black girls?
Every dollar raised during this year's campaign will support our work to create narrative change.
