Daniel used this time to very quickly slip on his boots, then began to leave. He had no... friends in Leerie now, he needed to be careful, more so than before.

He felt beyond guilty... this is why he doesn't make friends on the road.

Elijah backed away to his apartment and shut the door behind himself.

He didn't want to end it like this... but he had to get the job done.

Another tear fell to the floor as he stepped back. His arms were now crossed.

He stepped closer again, the panic in his eyes clear now.

He tensed up. Daniel took Elijah’s hands off his shoulders and put his satchel over his shoulder.

Elijah had almost panic in his eyes as he violently shook his head.
He grabbed Daniel by his shoulders.

`` Nonono, Daniel, you don't understand. You *have* to leave. Forget about any of the mysteries. Forget about this town. Forget about me. Just leave and never look back ``

He sighs, sympathy on his face. He was certain Elijah knew what he wanted to know himself.

He was turned away, trying to hide his teary-eyed face.

Daniel let go of his hand, the confusion overriding the concern.

Of course, he could figure it was about the ‘rumours’ and ‘secret organisation’. He'd felt the stares of the residents since he first came to Leerie.

He looked away to Daniel... it was too painful to really say it to his face directly.

Daniel gives Elijah a sympathetic and confused look, holding his bag with one hand and taking Elijah's again with the other.

Elijah took his hand carefully and looked him in the eyes, slowly shaking his head.

He looked back down again, letting go of him.

Elijah immediately picked up his stuff off a cupboard and handed it to him, pausing when being asked if he can come in..

Elijah opens the door, his eyes widening upon seeing Daniel before him.

`` Daniel..? What are you.. how'd you get here so fast.... I thought‐ because of your concussion..... `` , he was stumbling over his words, unsure what to say....

Being careful to avoid bumping into anyone, he entered the apartment and made his way up the stairs. He was reminded of Elijah carrying him down them just the other day....

Daniel knocks on the door to Elijah's apartment upon reaching it, dusting the sand off himself.

Daniel is wide awake, although, he had just been in the Miskatonic University hospital a few minutes prior to where he was currently. He was still being treated by that.... doctor, Herbert West.

Currently, he was “asleep” in a hospital bed. Or he was.

Elijah sat still on the carpet, staring at the dagger in his hands...he's done similar things before.... things to "get the job done" but doing this to Daniel.... it made his stomach turn.

He looked up and realised that Daniel's things were still laying on his couch...

Elijah didn't remain long in Arkham after bringing Daniel there. He couldn't stand the busy streets and the noise everywhere...
The ride back home was quiet without Daniel by his side... but that's how it went. That's how it was supposed to be.

Despite the mask covering his face, Elijah could tell he was grinning.
