British Cycling’s programme to get more women cycling. We aim to get more women and their families out and about enjoying the freedom of cycling in Durham
👀 Have you seen it? 👀
Lost in action. Missing, one Pilgrim Passport.
"I was very sad to find I had lost my pilgrim passport ..."
Susan Womersely lost her passport while cycling the 68-miles between @CarlisleCath and @nclcathedral with the #DurhamRedstarts, a women’s cycling group.
Susan had collected 26 cathedral stamps in her passport over three years!
The passport was lost on the weekend of 13 and 14 July
On 14 July they left The Sill, and made one stop at the Halcyon House Cafe in Corbridge before ending the ride at Newcastle Cathedral.
Susan, who has cycled to 15 of the 42 cathedrals (an estimated 400 miles) said:
“It would be great to get my passport back, but more than that I’m hoping this will be good promotion for ladies and cycling and of course the cathedrals and the The Cathedrals Cycle Route.”
The passport has Susan's name inside.
If anyone has picked it up or remembers seeing it please email:

... so that we can return it.

Prioritise those with very large suitcases - why not those with bicycles? Travel for cyclists was so much easier when you had “guards vans” @WeAreCyclingUK@cycling_podcast@BritishCycling
@LNER I regularly organise groups of cyclists for weekend adventures, however, your current approach to allowing bikes on trains is severely limiting the opportunity for sustainable tourism and active travel.
I have a group of 10 cyclists wanting to travel from Durham to Kings
Cross in August, however, you have limited your bike spaces to 2 per train (normally 4 spaces). This will mean I have to book 5 separate trains to London and 5 to return after our weekend of cycling.
Is there anything that can be done to support active travel for cyclists? You
14 of us cycled from Bury St Edmunds to Chelmsford, St Alban’s, St Paul’s and Southwark last weekend. A fantastic way to see the country and our heritage - great cafes on the route too. Roll on the next Cathedrals weekend #cathedralscycleroute@WeAreCyclingUK@BreezeCycling
The Government needs more than bold vision to get more people cycling and walking.
Last month catastrophic cuts were made to active travel funding in England. Here our CEO @s_j_mitchell explains how you can help restore the budget: https://t.co/iKMtLqS6L6

Lovely to get out for a walk today, even if it was too icy to pedal. We fancy dressed to raise much needed funds for @StCuthsHospice and hope we’ve paid for a day. Merry Xmas everyone 🎄🧑🎄🚴❄️ @BreezeCycling#togetherweride
Great to have Graham Rutt, author of cycling Britain’s Cathedrals returning to the CCR for the final leg @durhamcathedral to @nclcathedral along with the @Breezedurham for the final day later this month - 17th July. Today the baton is on the road with team @pborocathedral 🚴♀️

@LNER@WeAreCyclingUK is there something we can do to work with train companies to develop space for bikes. I organise a lot of cycling trips and would like to use trains for travel, but apparently passengers luggage takes priority over cyclists who have booked spaces.
