@ajflax This is an insane take. Players should be able to sign high-security contracts. If certain owners don’t like that, they don’t have to offer those types of deals
@KOB76@klwoodjr Nats making WC is a BIG if. Even another month of this bullpen could tank them and make them deadline sellers. And they’re in a pack of like 7 teams for WC spots, hard to say “let’s go for this” unless they play really good ball for the next ~5 weeks. Others likely better teams
@KOB76@klwoodjr It’s what you said about next season shifting downward that I disagreed with. Never impossible, but I think the Nats having a great offense isn’t necessarily just one special season. I think it’s part of their identity under Borgschulte. O’s mismanaged their situation.
@TheCurlyWDude@starsstrikesbb You’re nuts. They have no options - it’s up to this team to force them to bring in options or if they should tear it down.
This was supposed to be an experimental year. Remember that. Toboni’s blueprint did not include ‘26 contention, be grateful. Obviously, still frustrating.
@KOB76@klwoodjr O’s did have massive injuries to pitchers and regressed after they moved on from hitting coach Matt Borgschulte. Who does he coach for now? The Nats.
Not saying regression can’t happen, but Nats also have many prospects coming up. O’s saw regression after graduations.
