Garrett Mitchell’s self-designed Players’ Weekend bat is particularly cool. After managing Type 1 diabetes and overcoming multiple shoulder surgeries, it includes a blood sugar graph and a couple of reminders that every challenge has purpose.
They have no one that can beat him… and they are already freaking out about it:
“This corruption is why nothing works for ordinary people. It’s why you pay a fortune for prescriptions. It’s why your insurance company gets away with denying your cancer treatment. It’s why we are promised progress and we get more of the same.
So many broken promises. We were promised tax cuts for the rich would grow the middle class. We were promised Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. We were promised fairness when banks were bailed out while millions lost their homes. Do you remember that…
Trump promised to attack a broken system. I get it. Ripe target. Yes the system is really rigged, but he’s not unrigging it. He’s re-rigging it for himself.”
FIGHT OF THE YEAR
It just kept going and kept on getting better. And shout out the bystanders who kept a rule of law whenever it teetered on too far (mainly the guy trying to bash skulls with the extinguisher)
In the long run, Hong's loss is a good thing for the Socialists. Unlike Mamdani who talks a good game, Hong sounded like a dense loon. Had she won, the ensuing nightmare would have set the movement back (i.e. Seattle mayor).
When WI @GovEvers intervened in the shambolic Dem race to choose his successor a few weeks ago, many thought the move too little, too late to impact a race that seemed headed to an easy win for DSAer Fran Hong.
Instead of owning a failure, the mild-mannered Gov looks like a titan this AM, after @DavidCCrowley's upset win.
I just don’t get why this front office never goes for it. Try being aggressive at the deadline once. But no we will stick with inconsistent small ball that doesn’t work and never has worked in October. Enjoy the division cubs
I have to be honest Francesca Hong was extremely unlikeable and I genuinely was pretty sure she'd lose in November so while it sucks that a progressive lost if it was gonna be someone it should've been her because she's generationally unlikeable
Pour one out for the Republican hatchetman in Racine currently crying over an external harddrive containing the most brutal attack ads ever created, none of which will ever air
Francesca Hong is probably going to lose because she’s a terrible candidate, that’s the story. She clearly wasn’t ready for prime time, didn’t know how to maneuver through the limelight, and did the stupidest idea of all: no TV ads. Candidate quality matters
He's legitimately incredibly likeable. It's funny nobody wanted him and he was the default choice but he's actually just a very normal guy who seems stable and competent
The Dems went from the weird freak to easily the more normie of the two candidates. What an upgrade
