Every rush to blame someone (a group of people) for the result of the election is another win for them.
Don't give them anything you don't want to lose of yourself.
@GabriellePfund I'm not saying don't have legit and genuine feelings.
I am saying Don't let them grind you down, not yet. You are a positive, constructive, clear-eyed figure for many people. Others take heart from your voice, and will support you with theirs.
@NC_Renic As someone with (apparently) complicated writing ... I can say it is probably not great reader-oriented writing, but also --
I find myself saying all the time abt reviewers, "What if you're just in too big a hurry... learning is hard, sit down and take your time... :("
When I'm feeling down, my self-confidence is shaken - you know the feeling - I turn to my junk folder of predatory invites
There I am greeted as eminent, impressive, a leader in fields s/a nanomaterials, clinical neurology, sustainability, and more
Maybe I can do this after all
@edbaggs While I think this work is almost certainly onto something, it seems a bit light on literature that has previously established this and related territory. Thinking of Deacon, Gibbs, and others in contemporary literature.
@ljuba_pi@CurrentBiology@JR_Hochmann@ISC_MJ@BabyLyon11 Cool research here. There is further work available in indexicality from social anthropology that could help you go further in this too.
e.g., on social referencing by Ochs (1996) and Ochs & Schieffelin (1989).
@daisyldixon FWIW I've usually flow charted most of my publishing strategy. #1 aim for 2-3 topic specific high flyers. #2 check for average response times. #3 pick fastest/most responsive to queries. #4 uh... Profit??
@daisyldixon You mentioned rejections in another reply. What reasons are you getting? Your work is fairly niche, I think, granted I work in very different areas. Is there novel/newness penalty in the journals you're aiming at?
