This weekend, I met a Ukrainian Marine who spent two and a half years as a prisoner of war in Russia.

He told me about how they tortured him with electric shocks and by beating him with sticks. He lost more than sixty pounds in captivity. He spent long stretches in solitary confinement.

They did all of this to try to get him to sign false confessions. They’ve done this with other prisoners. The Russians try to torture them until they sign a false confession that could be used for propaganda. It goes against every law of war and every basic tenet of our humanity, but that’s exactly who Putin is.

This Ukrainian Marine didn’t give in. He told me that every night, when they were done abusing him and he finally had a moment, he would say out loud “one more day closer to home.”

He didn’t know when that day would come, but he had faith it would. Finally, he was released in a prisoner exchange.

That’s what ordinary Ukrainians are sacrificing for their homeland. Which is why we need to put the screws to Putin economically so that he actually comes to the table to end this war.

I want to be abundantly clear about the DOJ memo released tonight: Citing "Work Product Privilege" will NOT save the DOJ from releasing all the Epstein files. I'm not an attorney and even I know this won't hold up in a court of law.

RE deliberative process privilege, it would not cover factual information, which is missing from the files. If they can give the names, then they can give them in unredacted files. The list is an admission that they can remove those redactions.

Furthermore, federal agencies have already waived privileges with the information they've already disclosed redacted and unredacted.

If there is an active investigation or prosecution the DOJ can indeed cite these privileges, but not when they've concluded their investigation and decided no one is going to jail, no one else will be prosecuted and after they wipe their hands clean, etc.

Meanwhile, the DOJ claims in this report that 'no records were withheld or redacted on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.'

Then explain this: an internal FBI email from March 17, 2025 shows agents requesting 'clear and specific guidance' on redacting photographs depicting 'former U.S. Presidents, Secretary of State, and other celebrities' from the Epstein files.

So which is it? You didn't redact to protect the powerful, or you needed specific guidance on how to do exactly that?

Your government is withholding information and files whether it's SDNY, FBI, CBP, CIA, DOJ or elsewhere.

Also - they're missing names on the list disclosed this evening.

Slashed: The legal authority to regulate carbon from cars, power plants, and factories. All of it. Gone in one afternoon.

Yesterday Trump ordered the Pentagon — the largest energy consumer on Earth — to buy coal electricity.

Coal costs $69–$169/MWh.
Wind costs $27–$53/MWh.
Solar costs $38–$78/MWh.

99% of U.S. coal plants cost more to run than replacing them with brand-new solar or wind.

That's your tax dollars buying the most expensive electricity on the market. By executive order. While the Peabody Energy CEO stood in the room.

And the human cost of what you're "saving"?

460,000 American deaths linked to coal pollution in 20 years. Coal PM2.5 is 2.1x deadlier than other air pollution. (Henneman et al., Science, 2023)

All to protect an industry that employs 44,000 people total. Clean energy employs 3.5 million.

Waymo's system, fueled by careful collection of a large volume of fully autonomous data, is the most advanced, large-scale application of embodied AI today. Very proud to see this level of engineering rigor tackling safe autonomous driving making the roads safer for everyone (and it has been nice to see various Google research collaborations with Waymo be a part of these advances!).

The insights here are foundational for how we design and safely scale all complex AI systems.
