LIVE: At a time when half of older Americans have no retirement savings and millions of senior citizens are living in poverty, our job is to expand Social Security by demanding the wealthy pay their fair share. https://t.co/sEGOhQvkuF
It is absurd that a billionaire in America today pays the same amount of Social Security taxes as someone making $147,000 a year. It is time to scrap the cap, expand benefits, and fully fund Social Security.
A new bill introduced in Tallahassee creates a “task force” for PFAS with representation from 23 entities, all appointed and doesn’t include scientists, advocates, or NGOs.
A handful of student loan providers are getting rich off public colleges and universities while putting MILLIONS of Americans into insurmountable debt and we’re supposed to be ok with that? Nah.
Cancel the debt.
Make it free.
I strongly oppose lowering income eligibility for direct payments from $75,000 to $50,000 for individuals and $150,000 to $100,000 for couples. In these difficult times, ALL working class people deserve the full $1,400. Last I heard, someone making $55,000 a year is not "rich."
Please ask Michael Regan about the CWA 404 permits being turned over to Florida State that violates tribal rights??? EPA can’t abandon its responsibility to the indigenous people & wildlife of Florida! Will Regan take EPA’s authority & responsibility back? @CoryBooker
Those in power who want us to focus on looting and property damage instead of the thousands peacefully protesting are trying to distract us from the terrible violence that engulfs the lives of working people every day. As Coretta Scott King reminded us, violence takes many forms.
We are witnessing a rebellion. It’s beautiful to see the qty of protests and the scope and breadth of all colors, all genders, all sexual orientations, all ethnicities and all religious identities in the USA.

Instead of spending $80 billion a year on jails and incarceration, we need to be investing in more jobs and education. One thing is abundantly clear: Every police department violating people's civil rights must be stripped of federal funding. Period.
We have now lost nearly 70,000 Americans to the coronavirus.
That’s more Americans than we lost on September 11th, and the wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq combined.
Let’s allow ourselves to grieve and never lose sight of the depth of this tragedy.
Trump still has not utilized the Defense Production Act to manufacture the equipment we desperately need.
His inaction is literally sacrificing the lives of medical professionals and patients.
Since Trump has failed to act, Congress must step in and address this crisis.
Today, May 5th, is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. I marched in Minneapolis in remembrance of the hundreds of MMIW that go missing every year. Please don’t forget them. #MMIW
