@TimMumaMKE Everyone was up in arms a few weeks ago when the manager WAR graphic was going around. This sums it up perfectly. Murph is a leader of men, but damn if he doesn’t step in it managing a game.

@bachlaw I think part of it was deceiving as the pitch before it was called a strike but further out. Doesn’t mean it was a strike, but was called that way.

@notbobkoz Correct. I meant he’s the backup plan this year. They signed Rengifo and it didn’t pan out. So it’s next man up. He was going to get the spot eventually, but I didn’t expect June.

@notbobkoz I hope everyone remembers he’s the backup plan. And the roster is better today than tomorrow. It’s not ideal, but his floor should be at least what Rengifo was providing. Even if it’s equal, he’s developing.

In 2008 CC Sabathia had more XBH in 50 plate appearances for the Brewers than Joey Ortiz, David Hamilton, Greg Jones, and Luis Matos have combined in 237 plate appearances this season.

@notbobkoz Nate Orf and Tyler Saladino come to mind. Saladino was across two seasons but I think he only played in like a half seasons worth of games total.

@notbobkoz Pitching is most obvious fault but it pops up every so often with super strange pinch hit choices (whether to or not to) and lineup decisions.

He may be the best bench coach on the planet, because that suits his strengths perfectly.

@crewsox11 By every definition of the rule, it should be a double play.

Also, I hate giving up free runners but this is a consequence of not being able to police the game. If you’re able to ribcage him at any moment it makes that slide much less likely.
