@con_diddy @JohnHuwEvans2 @GordonBrown If you wanted another example, then Avanti trains would be a good example as well. Or the fiasco of the East coast main line in the last few years as another example. There are plenty of others. And the "customer" or tax payers end up paying the penalty ultimately.
@con_diddy @JohnHuwEvans2 @GordonBrown One of many examples here - Southern water (and theres plently of other examples of them and other water companies doing exactly that. As for accountable, thats hard to really see in some sectors.

@con_diddy @JohnHuwEvans2 @GordonBrown You'd call our current model of dumping sewage in rivers efficient? Or acceptable? It's been shown that they certainly can't be trusted to deliver, and the government can't be trusted to compel them to a decent standard. Shareholder dividends have no place in essential services.
@toryboypierce Given that most people on benefits are actually in work, I guess you are referring to employers who pay so little that their appalling wages need to be subsidised by benefits like Universal Credit as those who want "something for nothing"?
@JonathanPieNews We do pay, it's called national insurance. If they didn't syphon off all the funds to thier private mates there would be plenty for the NHS.
@BeckettUnite @golding_stuart The price “cap” calculation also needs to be adjusted to stop all sources of energy being charged at the rate of the highest source.
@TravisAllen02 Yes, but I'd lay the blame at the door of those who are paying for Twitter Blue enabling Musk to carry on doing his stupid nonsense. Blocking them helps a bit, but just means more of them appear from different sources.
@bdav@nccqshere@PeteWhite5000@AddisonLeeCabs There are other restrictions for different vehicles and trailers detailed on the link, but this is the relevant bit I think to that situation.
@bdav@nccqshere@PeteWhite5000@AddisonLeeCabs Rule 265
The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes MUST NOT be used (except in prescribed circumstances) if you are driving <snip> a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes

@lordgmanilson@jonburkeUK Except in the case mentioned, he didn't actually have a license to drive the lorry as well as being unfit to do so and uninsured. Though would agree that anything that can be done should be done, as has been said before "you may be right, but your still dead"
@poochiewalker@MadScientistFF The Tax doesn't equate to 20% VAT so fairly sure this isn't the UK. its somewhere with 12% tax. I would guess its somewhere in the US so is in Dollars?, but with no currency shown hard to say more.
@doyletony77@MikeyCycling@westhamsam27 He is clearly looking to pick a fight with strangers on the internet, Mind you he is also silly enough to have paid for a blue tick as well which tells you everything you need to know😂
