EDITORIAL: New Gov. Gen. Louise Arbour's claim Canada is "near perfect" was a smug wink and a nod to the Laurentian Elite class of which she is a charter member, in a Canada that works for them but not for millions of Canadians on the outside looking in.

Being granted permission to come to Canada is a privilege, not a right. Those who abuse that privilege by committing criminal offences should be deported at speeds not seen in generations. I propose referring this to Carney’s Major Projects Office for speedy approval.
It took less than a week for government to go from AI for All to ID for All. Reports of a social media ban for kids will require identification for all Canadians. There is no unwinding that data collection and it is no replacement for effective regulation

I’m so bloody sick of politicians telling us how amazing Canada is while backbenchers make $217,700.00 base salary & they’re all indexed for inflation every year.
Gas is $2.00+ a litre in the Yukon & this is the cost of a head of lettuce at Carman Co-op. A few weeks ago it was $7.19.
There are no other options for grocery shopping in Carman or
many other small towns across the country, for any muppets who want to argue about shopping sMaRtEr. Stop trying to normalize the insanity & obvious problems.
Stop the bootlicking, it’s weak & pathetic.
Phantom hi-speed regional @AltoTrain has 13 VPs and spent $1.6M on ads last year though it won't be operational til 2036 at the earliest: "We are so proud."

"The reality of the recession is one of pain, heartbreak, and disappointment. That’s the reality Mark Carney needs to understand.
So far, he’s hardly risen to the moment. After the numbers landed last week, the PM dodged a question from a reporter about the recession. He literally ran out the door to avoid answering.
The man who built his whole brand on economic competence had nothing to say.
The last thing Canadians need is more speeches about productivity and nation-building. They need a Prime Minister who understands what’s happening at their kitchen tables, and then acts accordingly.
If Mark Carney can’t make that connection, then maybe he’s in the wrong job." @RoyceKoop
“Avoiding being manipulated for political purposes and being played as a patsy is perhaps the most important reason why reporters should be insisting on naming sources”
Managers have spent $1.6 million advertising regional high speed rail service that doesn’t exist.
@altotrain now has 13 vice presidents.
“We are so proud.”
