@larissa_z No artists since have quite captured the same magic of melted cheese.

Ridley Scott’s swords-and-sandals classic GLADIATOR was released 23 years ago today. An enormous production full of star names, the making of story is as epic as the film itself.

Watching THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) for the first time since I was a kid. I forgot how hard Glinda threw Dorothy under the bus. Frames her for witchicide, paints a target on her back, and won’t even loan her a broom for the journey. Glinda’s the real villain of the story.

@btsportwwe Wrestlemania VIII was my first Mania after I started watching wrestling. I have such vivid memories of the build to Flair vs. Savage

@everythingloria For me, it was just watching the trailer & seeing that Rita Moreno was in it that caught my attention. The original show was before my time and not one I ever watched in reruns.

I didn’t have “former co-workers in a viral Family Feud clip” on my bingo card for today…

The TANGLED version of Rapunzel would actually make for a great JRPG hero.

We Bought A Zoo (2011)
We Have A Ghost (2023)
We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011)

actually cannot breathe from how wholesome this is, not a single bad thing happens in it & I was real scared for a minute there

@maggiekarp This is 100% accurate.

I've had the good fortune to meet many presidents, kings, Nobel Peace Prize winners and truly impressive people. Few are as truly good as Jimmy Carter, who at age 98 is now entering hospice. He leaves this planet so much better than he found it. A great, great, great man.

The Savannah Bananas are the best story in sports.

Their owner went $1.8 million in debt to build the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball — and it's working.

The team now makes $200,000 per home game and is about to embark on a 70-game tour across 22 states.

Here's the story 👇

@AustinCreedWins PSone. I’m a JRPG guy, and Suikoden 1-2, Final Fantasy 7-9 + Tactics, Xenogears, & Chrono Cross all had killer soundtracks.

I don't completely know how to explain this, but as a cat owner you quickly learn that "absence of cat (chill)" and "absence of cat (suspicious)" are two very different kinds of silence

@xoxogossipgita The fact that wizards don’t know ANYTHING about the non-magical world. The kids live outside Hogwarts all summer & know nothing.

Also, none of them ever heard of a gun? That final battle would have gone smoother if they’d seen Die Hard. Or even Home Alone.

I mean, in my fantasy world I have a candy that’s actually just Gushers. Pretty sure they can handle stew.
