@Esse_NonVideri@uricohenisrael Yes, It's not a laughing matter and I feel for the real French people. Here in the UK we have a government that wants to force a new voting system that will condemn our countries to the same fate.
@Evilgenius222@JChimirie66677 Here's an interesting thought experiment, how many deaths would there have been had Hamas and their Palestinian supporters not invaded Israel on October 7th? What would Gaza have looked like had the billions in aid been used for the betterment of the people?
@andyburnham I honestly think this guy is dumber than a bag of spanner’s! Sorry, he thinks the UK has anything to say about AI? That a 2-state solution is even remotely feasible?
My first gig a couple of months after 10/7, I was approached by a keffiyeh wearing, leftie moron rattling a bucket asking for money for Palestine. I asked if she had a bucket for the hostages and got a mouthful of abuse. Not only that, my pal I was attending the event with quickly held his hands up and said ‘I’m not with him!’
🤣
From what I can see, the situation hasn’t improved!
Ed must have known Macklemore’s views on Palestine beforehand, Unless he had no input on support acts at all, it’s safe to assume he knew what this halfwit was likely to do on his stage. This dilutes my sympathy. As for Macklemore, he must be loving the hype he’s getting, his music surely doesn’t deserve it!
Mehdi is quite correct, the British public, media and our government should not support Israel to protect British Jews. It’s enough that Israel is our ally and the only western democracy in the Middle East and the islamists like Hamas, Hizbollah and all the other Iranian proxies are our enemies. And, by his logic, we should not be overly concerned about the feelings of British Muslims who will play their usual victim card.
@kevverage@kh_99 Those are not fair points, pretty moronic actually. They underline the fact that taxation is madly out of control. The political class think it’s their prerogative to bleed the hard working people of the UK completely dry.
@JohnSimpsonNews The Economist, like the Guardian, NY Times, BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and the rest, profoundly out of touch! Just like yourself @JohnSimpsonNews
So here is my considered opinion on this….its a pile of shit. That’s not just a gut reaction….its for a number of reasons.
- artistically it’s just not very good. It’s cartoonish, simple, doesn’t require much talent (like a lot of “art” nowadays) and very much resembles something an A level art student would be asked to knock up as a bit of course work.
- it’s being given a depth of meaning it just doesn’t have. The artists explanation of what it stands for is trite nonsense. It’s basically “woman with fat arse”.
- it’s totally out of place with its surroundings . The 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square has sadly become a place for trends and agendas to be pushed rather than actually artistic talent and merit to be displayed.
- The artist isn’t even English/British, she’s American.
- It wasn’t even made in this country, it was made in Italy and shipped here.
It’s emblematic of everything going wrong in the western world. It’s the dumbing down of culture, the celebration of a fad, a trendy idea over actual skill or talent.
How can it be true that sculptures from 3/4/5/600 years ago were a million times more talented and skilled and produced FAR more beautiful and complex works of art literally with chisels and basic tools than artists today with 3d design software, high powered tools and latest cutting and shaping equipment. And it’s not just art, it’s everywhere. It’s music, it’s architecture, it’s almost everything that requires thought, skills, talent, dedication.
Society is being dumbed down and made LESS beautiful by technology not improved. It’s made people lazy. Lazy musicians who can create on a laptop and don’t need to improve their voice because it can be auto tuned. Lazy artists who don’t experiment and learn painting or sculpture techniques because software does it for the. Architects who value functionality and cheap costs and materials over style and beauty.
I realise I sound like an anti modernist old fart…..but I don’t give a shit because I’m 100% right and the vast majority of people would agree with me.
