@MmisterNobody Do your kids go to school in your town? District? Who picks up your garbage? Water services ? Police / Fire ?Roads? These go to your town / whatever as part of the collective cost of having those services provided .. it’s not hard concept to grasp

@RSkalba4 Yes but NCAA marketing has pushed that narrative for decades - almost like they made the rules about CHL kids being paid professional and feeling inferior at same time. It is gonna be a win win for CHL kids - younger and older. The leagues that will suffer are pay to play Jr

@MikeMcMahonCHN Note is 1985 after my junior career was over I would have done the jump to D1 - to the right school for my educational benefit - because by that time my pro aspirations were over …have been wishing for this change for a while ! Sad it was spurred by NIL $ and not interest of kid

@MikeMcMahonCHN #2 CHL team can trade or cut you . D1 over recruits , replaces you and now there goes your scholarship. Per the educational front , the CHL educational package has been a game changer and you see the improvement in the CIS / U Sports as testament and kids get an education later

@MikeMcMahonCHN #6 avg D1 freshman is 20 . The portal has to change as it’s ruining recruiting and team continuity to be able to win. USA hockey has a great development program and I wish Canada had similar. College hockey is entertaining and fun to watch as is all college sports !

@MikeMcMahonCHN Although most D1 schools give scholarships I think his point is that are they really there for school or to play hockey ? The entrance bar is pretty low. Parents are selecting schools where their kid can get a free ride not the best education.And the rub was that the NCAA used
