Man, the more I think about the #SuperMarioBrosMovie the more impressed I am. Story/pacing problems, 1 or 2 VAs I didn’t love, and 80s pop aside. The visuals, mad energy, affection for the IP, and the OST do so much to elevate something that could’ve been tossed off crap.

@TychoBrahe I’ve enjoyed most of Phase 4, but it feels like they’re scared of having a movie plot that doesn’t have billions of lives at stake.

@ATRightMovies God, the design work on this movie was so incredible. Like the Golden Compass movie it felt like they squandered a perfect cast and incredible production by not trusting the plot on the page. The @ActuallyNPH version is also incredible but has more time to breathe.
