@Leslinos@GerryMcBride I had this for my “personal” phone along with my work-assigned Blackberry, and I thought I was an Extremely Cool Young Professional
@SethNorthrop@NIXMITH @EShen42 @DietCoke_Esq Also getting fact checked by USA Today when numerous think tanks have nuanced ideas and arguments and thoughtful analysis by experts is why we can’t have nice things. USA Today doesn’t even have the numbers right 🙄
@SethNorthrop@NIXMITH @EShen42 @DietCoke_Esq We disagree on the premise of whether not collecting $ is a “cost” when talking about govt. USA Today (intellectual powerhouse that it is) relies on your premise. This is not a fact checkable issue bc analysis requires agreement on too many variables.
@EShen42 @SethNorthrop@NIXMITH@DietCoke_Esq Addressing an existing crisis created in part by telling people to go to college, student loan is “good debt” - maybe you are too young for that to have been your life. It does nothing to address ongoing or future effects. Can’t state it more clearly.
@ekaulig @SethNorthrop@NIXMITH @EShen42 @DietCoke_Esq If they would just retroactively waive interest many people including myself would have already paid them off.
@bespokediogenes@viaholiday@GodSpawned I think the ACA does require the insurer to refund some to the insureds if their profit is a certain amount over what they actually paid out. I’ve gotten a check every year. So there’s that. Also - colonoscopies are covered!
@TheConwayCon@Infosec_Taylor My employer does not provide insurance. I have an unsubsidized single person ACA policy that costs $440/month. It has an $8500 deductible. But I get 2 (or 3?) “free” visits to my PCP per year.
@SethNorthrop@NIXMITH @EShen42 @DietCoke_Esq The money has already been leant. Chasing after that money costs more money. In addition the govt has been paid considerable interest. The guy was complaining about taxpayer cost. I was pointing out there is no new cost to taxpayers. Less, actually.
@EShen42 @SethNorthrop@NIXMITH@DietCoke_Esq Right, the problem has already been created and it’s on the verge of a crisis. The debt cancellation proposal is intended to address that crisis, it does not address preventing future harm.
@EShen42 @SethNorthrop@NIXMITH@DietCoke_Esq I think we aren’t speaking in synchronicity because you don’t have as much familiarity with the issues and industry. If you’re interested, I would encourage reading more about the student loan service industry
