Grateful for @TexasACAC board support, my wonderful Co-Chair, and our coalition of organizations. I've supported many students through my professional career but receiving a resolution from a TX senator for advocating for post secondary success for all Texans takes the cake.
Government Relations Co-Chairs Narietha Carter-McClain and Bridget Adiukwu represented TACAC at the inaugural Higher Education Policy Seminar at the state capitol on April 17 and April 18, 2023.
Now in its 38th year, #NACAC’s College Openings Update is live. https://t.co/S21ljDNCOD This resource is a voluntary listing of NACAC-member postsecondary institutions that are still accepting applications from prospective first-year and/or transfer students for fall 2025.
I spent so much time going over this case for myself, my students, my board position. We knew this would happen, that they would try this, even though the decision did not state it applied more broadly.
In a new a Dear Colleague letter, @usedgov says that 2023 SFFA decision “applies more broadly” than admissions. It tells colleges that they must stop considering race in admissions, scholarships, and everything else. https://t.co/m4qUHqtAfo

For 55 years, Sesame Street has welcomed all children to learn and play with our furry friends, friendly monsters, and warm and gentle grown-ups.
Everyone has a place on Sesame Street and has since our first episode premiered on November 10th, 1969. Happy #SesameStreetDay
A new study from the London School of Economics says 50 years of tax cuts in the U.S. — which promised to “trickle down” and eventually boost jobs and income for everyone — have only helped one group: the rich.

All of these restrictive/early action policies are getting out of hand. It's hard to keep up with each school's exceptions. How am I supposed to remember these to hold myself and my students to an ethical process?!

The number of instructional days that are permanently lost due to field trips, college fairs, sporting events, etc is way too high. Extracurricular activities that encroach on the academic calendar and bell schedule are no longer extracurricular. It turns school into summer camp.

So if a plane ticket costs $1200 to fly from Florida to someplace else in America, but then jumps to $3000 because a hurricane is coming…….that should be criminal. No company should ever be allowed to price gouge during disasters.
Prayers up for all the testing coordinators. I left work at 6:30 and will be back in 12 hours to test. Also, I have proctors without TDTK access... Let's hope it works in the morning.
