@bathelshoshana1 India....we Indians love Israel deeply. Our hearts cried when October 7th happened. We stand with you in your good and bad times. Am Yisrael Chai (עם ישראל חי)!!
A billionaire once told me: when you feel stuck, go sit in the most expensive hotel in your city.
Order a coffee.
It works every time.
Here's what that environment does to you:
A salute to flydubai’s brave Indian pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar. Stabbed and wounded, yet he stood his ground. With the courage of "Arjuna" in the face of danger and the resolve of "Hanuman" when duty called, he fought back, opened the cockpit door, and gave the passengers and crew the chance to prevent disaster. He helped save 174 lives.
Tonight, from the UAE to India to Israel, people are united in gratitude, wishing Captain Machchhar a swift and full recovery.
A hero to his passengers, to aviation, and to people everywhere.
Salute, Captain.
Captain Smit Machchhar is a HERO.
In the face of the gravest danger and despite being seriously injured, he showed immense courage and an unwavering resolve to protect the lives of others.
His valour helped save hundreds of lives and avert a great tragedy.
India is proud of Captain Machchhar.
Praying for his speedy recovery, renewed strength and good health.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.

I hope folks enjoy working with Opus 5.5! This is the first model I’ve worked on (in a small way) since joining Anthropic, so it’s a special one to me. Let me know what you think!
@dishasatra why on earth Hamas did this? They knew Israel will destroy them after such horrific attacks. Many innocent people lost lives on both sides.
Britain used to run every lighthouse with two men. In 1801 one of them died on a rock off Wales, and the survivor spent four months alone with the corpse tied to the railing outside because he was scared people would say he killed him. After that the rule became three keepers per light. It stayed that way for almost 200 years.
That's the whole job in one story. The sea never killed most keepers. The quiet did.
France sorted its postings into three tiers with a straight face. Mainland lights were "paradises." Island lights were "purgatories." Rocks in open water were "enfers," hells, and the men who drew them rotated on and off by boat when the weather allowed, which some months meant not at all. The tower in this clip is La Jument, a hell. In December 1989 the storm ripped its front door off and washed the furniture out. The keeper, Théodore Malgorn, heard a helicopter and ran down to the door thinking he was being rescued. It was a photographer. The wave behind him became the most printed lighthouse photo on earth, and he later said another two steps from the door and he'd be dead.
The light kept a keeper for two more years after.
Antarctic research stations see the same thing in crews wintering over, and they have a name for the stare people develop by the third month. Once you cut off the relief boat, the danger is background noise. Most people can be paid to face a wave. Almost nobody can be paid to stop hearing their own thoughts for twelve weeks at a stretch, which is why every lighthouse service on earth ended up with the same fix. Not better pay. A second person. Then a third.
Once you're paying three grown men to sit with one bulb, a timer beats them on cost, and that's what happened. La Jument lost its last keeper in 1991. France pulled its last rock keepers in 2004. Boston Light, the last staffed lighthouse in America, ended the job in 2023.
The salary was never the problem. The lighthouse got automated the day a light bulb became cheaper than the loneliness.
She is 18 built a game with 4 agents and sold it to Microsoft for $2.4M - and at Stanford shared how to repeat it from scratch:
00:09 - how Opus 5 in Claude Code built a game making $100k a month
23:34 - 4 agents replaced a developer team worth $200k a year
59:47 - how to build your first game from scratch in 60 minutes
after watching I gave Claude Code the game idea I had been holding for 2 years - in 60 minutes it already existed in the App Store and was making money.
save & watch - the article below shows how 4 agents and Claude Code replace a developer team and build a game Microsoft will buy for $2.4M.
