Summer is the peak flowering period for many UK grasslands. A botanical survey provides classifications of grassland habitat, allowing the site to be assessed against Local Wildlife Site Selection criteria to judge a proposed development's impact.

Our #archaeology team have been on an excavation field course at Besselsleigh in Oxfordshire. The course involved #excavation, recording archaeological contexts, processing of finds, plan and section drawings of trenches, and use of GPS and other tools.

At Barters Hill in the Cotswolds, B&G were commissioned to provide a #badger survey, a LEMP, construction of an artificial #sett, preparation of a development license, the closure of an existing sett and the installation of badger fencing.

A fantastic find for our ecologists today - a skylark nest! These ground-nesting birds need to raise 2-3 broods every year in order to maintain populations, but changes to cereal farming methods in the past few decades mean that their numbers are declining #30dayswild
