Iconoplasm is a browser extension that displays gene portraits when you hover over gene names.
All the genes you found are stored in your archive: https://t.co/PZELWsown9
Get it here for Firefox: https://t.co/PmZWfg0OoM

@graycrawford This is fantastic for simulating microscope field of view - I had to look at these for hours at a time as a biologist. Could even see my own cataract blemishes and intraocular implants.
Now I'm tempted to borrow the idea for histology short videos.
AI twitter: Digital work is over, Claude can do anything you can but better.
Claude: Hey here are some more survival curves I couldn't digitize, do you mind placing the points manually?
@mosasaurus27 We had this in Moscow State University
After 1st year, they throw all the undergrads into forest for 2 months and tell them to research
Me and my friend mapped out the alliance and war network of the local anthills
My other friend investigated cheating rates of local birds
@dynomight7 Good post.
Looking forward to part 2 about how mutation burden locks us into cancer-senescence tradeoffs, SBS1/SBS5 signatures, single-cell bottleneck, and ten thousand years of CTVT.
@owl_posting But we already did that with Human Genome Project and ENCODE. The "Millennium dataset" will need to beat them in prominence somehow.
Even then, no matter how hard the dataset is to obtain, it's merely a faithful record of reality. It's not an answer to a question, or a challenge
@retiremeplease May I perhaps lure you to biostatistics and bioinformatics roles in biotech industry?
More than 100,000 people per day die to age-related causes, and we need more math talents to bring it to 0.
And it's easier for a math PhD to learn biology than the opposite.
@curiouswavefn Decent start. My suggestions:
1) ask AI for voiceover
2) make a floating name label near each protein - side legend is a poor choice
3) highlight key actions: arrows, circles, splitscreen
4) more context - why should we care? is it hard?
5) remove claude's verbal tics
@tenobrus@zetalyrae@iron_redux I would be very careful with claims of hydra "immortality".
Pop-science reports often conflate lineage age, individual age, death, and budding. LLMs eat it up uncritically.
From what I know, a single polyp was tracked to maintain individual body integrity for 12 years max.
