UNISON Branch Secretary Jo addresses the rally at UCU with a message for the Provost. Bring them in! Cleaners, caterers and security are part of the UCL community. @unisontheunion
UNISON catering rep Colum entertains the crowd at the UCU rally to insource catering, cleaning and security, because they are part of the UCL community. @unisontheunion
Wonderful and inspiring to be at my very first branch @UCLUnison for the @BringThemInUCL rally today.
The branch has gone from strength to strength and achieved huge improvements for outsourced workers - but UCL needs to take the final step and fully insource all staff!
📢#InHouseInCity Campaign Rally

Please come & add your voices to demand cleaners & caterers @CityUniLondon are brought in house for equal sick pay, holiday, pensions + much more!

Cleaners, catering and security staff are an integral part of life at UCL. Without them, the university wouldn't function.
They deserve to be treated just the same as the rest of their colleagues.
Join our rally on Tuesday 24 May and send UCL a clear message: In-source staff now!
We call on @cityunilondon to act now to ensure our catering staff are financially supported during the #COVID19 pandemic. City do the right thing - don't leave our caterers to face hunger, homeless and debt!
Open letter from UNISON, @CityUCU, @unitetheunion & @CityUniSU 👇👇👇
🚨CONFIRMED🚨 #zerohours catering staff @cityunilondon will receive normal for weeks they would have normally expected to work while uni is closed due to #COVID19, backdated to 17 march 💪💪💪💪
To any university continuing to operate services that are not strictly essential you are putting staff and students at serious risk. Please think again.

This situation only further highlights the need for UCL to #BringThemIn and end outsourcing so that ALL workers receive these protections AUTOMATICALLY in the future
All UCL outsourced staff should receive the same sickness benefits as directly employed UCL staff from today. This was brought forward from 1 July and is good news for all outsourced staff at UCL.
Covid-19 will continue to present significant challenges to all workers, and we are committed to continuing to support and protect outsourced workers at UCL.
