You can smell the coal fire just looking at this photo! This glorious 1920s time capsule once sat on Brook Street in Sedgley, and has so many wonderful, authentic little details.
So much wonderful detail in this photo of Dudley High Street in the early 1920s! You can see a tram line running right down the centre, which was there until the '30s, around the time the Midland Red bus service took over as the most popular form of transport #FromTheArchives

Rowland Richards and wife, Maria Maud, standing outside the Brown Jug Inn on Sandbeds Road, Shortheath circa 1912. Rowland was licensee from 1904-1912. The “old” pub was replaced with the “new” Brown Jug in the 1950s, finally closing its doors for good in around 2008. #TT#bclm
A quiet but beautiful-as-ever view from the top of the limekilns, taken by our Duty Manager who is becoming QUITE the photographer if he doesn't say so himself!
#HappyEaster from the Tower’s very own resident Easter Hare, Rufus! 🐰
As family pet of Tower Director Andrew Jackson, Rufus loves being taken out for a hop around the fortress. Here he is soaking up the spring sunshine in the West Moat ☀️
Happy weekend all! Osses are still at the Museum, being cared for by trained staff. Still, they have more time than ever and frankly, they seem like they're ready to... ~stirrup~ a bit of trouble (pun very much intended)
Gospel Oak Colliery, Tipton, 1913 ⚒️ By the late 1890s, around 40m tons of coal had been taken from Tipton alone. It was the beginning of the end for the 'coal rush' in the Black Country but these men, boys & osses worked in one of the few larger mines that remained open ☝️
