This should be a nice sweaty hairy day out this weekend. Anyone going ? Fancy it ? ….
More than 50,000 Muslims are set to gather at Britain's largest Islamic festival in a matter of days.
Muslims from around the world are set to attend the Jalsa Salana UK convention near Alton, Hampshire this weekend.
The Jalsa Salana is expecting members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community from over 100 countries to attend, with a staff of nearly 5,000 volunteers.
Organisers said they have "extensive measure in place" to keep attendees safe at the convention - which has been held for around six decades.

I say this as a parent, if you are on the bus with your pram and a wheelchair user comes on, you need to make space or get off. And as bystanders we should feel confident enough to tell people this to avoid wheelchair users having to deal with ts on their own.
@officialsammyuk is on the ground in Manchester with @MarlonTag this week.
Still getting out there doing the practical work.
Let's get a huge result in and make waves!
'How often did we hear previous Conservative Governments talk about levelling up?'
'Moving No.10 to Manchester is not a priority!'
Shadow Exchequer to the Treasury Gareth Davies MP calls Andy Burnham's new 'No.10 in the North' a gimmick.
The Severn Valley Railway says it's having to take extra precautions to reduce the threat of fires caused by sparks from its heritage steam trains.
Despite the hot weather, it’s managed to maintain steam, but warns that tinder dry conditions aren’t making the challenge easy.

Does anybody still take the risk and use Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat?
You never know who’s going to be knocking at your door.
You never know what they might do with your food…steal it, contaminate it, or worse.
Anyone else stopped using them?
John Jacob Astor IV was the wealthiest passenger on the Titanic. He helped his pregnant wife into a lifeboat, followed the 'women and children first' protocol, stayed behind and died in the sinking.
She gave her spot on the lifeboat to her maid and refused to leave without her husband because they had spent their whole lives together and she didn’t want to live without him. They were last seen descending the staircase, to go into their cabin.
They were the couple you saw in the movie. Titanic lying in bed together at the end.
And then a hundred some odd years later his descendant’s husband would lead others into a fiberglass submarine to see the wreck and implode. Wendy Rush (wife of OceanGate CEO) is the great-great-granddaughter.
Dear @zannymb Beddoes you challenged @elonmusk on the threat of civil war in Britain 🇬🇧. It is a theme explored by Prof of Modern War @DavidBe31099196 Betz of Lings College, Univrsity.
He was speaking at the @NewCultureForum's Literary Festival of Free Speech. He sees civil war coming to Britain under these conditions. My comments are in bold.
He said without mass immigration this would have not happened he said.
1. Loss of Social Cohesion and Trust (Social Capital Collapse):
Declining trust in institutions and fellow citizens, measured by surveys like the Edelman Trust Barometer. Societies shift from cohesive nations with shared identity to fragmented "jigsaw puzzles" of identity-based tribes in segregated communities.
Multiculturalism is highlighted as a major erosive force (echoing statements by Merkel and Cameron), as it undermines pre-political loyalty and raises coordination barriers to stability.
Multiculturalism has failed. Many in the Muslim community have no intentions of integrating.
2. Political Polarization and Legitimacy Crisis:
Elite overreach, perceived betrayal of democratic mandates (e.g., post-Brexit dynamics), and the sense that normal politics cannot solve problems. This includes "Anywheres" (cosmopolitan elites) vs. "Somewheres" (rooted majorities), identity politics, and filter bubbles amplified by social media.
A key trigger is the perceived "downgrading" of a former majority group (demographic/cultural displacement), one of the strongest predictors in civil war.
I assume you are an "Anywhere," I'm a "Somewhere" proud Brit. You are a tiresome Blob mouthpiece.
On the key trigger, two-tier Britain, especially two-tier policing & justice, look at the savage sentence given out to @LucyTCWife is widely discussed and has 10 references in Hansard.
3. Economic Stagnation and Expectation Gaps: Structural decline, deindustrialization, rising costs (energy, housing, food), debt, and inequality. When expectations of well-being collapse without "bread and circuses" to pacify populations, unrest grows.
This combines with factionalism to make resource competition violent.
We are £3 trillion in debt, Ed Miliband's Net Zero madness has made manufacturing uncompetitive, our home energy bills 4 times of that of an American 🇺🇸 home, energy poverty is real.
4. Factionalization and Identity-Based Divisions: Moderately homogeneous societies becoming fractured (especially along ethnic/religious lines) are most unstable.
Betz emphasizes urban-rural divides, with diverse "feral cities" (losing rule of law, no-go zones, two-tier policing) vs. rural/indigenous hinterlands. He notes rising intercommunal violence and retreat into tribal affiliations for security.
By some metrics Bradford is the most violent city in Europe. We have police forces like @WestYorksPolice & @WMPolice who pander to the Muslim communities as they may well protest violently.
5. Vulnerable Infrastructure and Systems Disruption Potential: Modern cities depend on rural-passed critical systems (energy, transport, comms) that are hard to protect. Anti-status quo groups can exploit this for asymmetric attacks, accelerating collapse.
Ms Beddoes you are a typical of the private school, Oxbridge Univeristy educated with a degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics, elitist who have done their best to ruin this country.
