This unqualified bore says his secondhand opinions are “not up for debate.” Yes they are. At a university all opinions are up for debate. If you cannot defend your opinions rationally, either they are indefensible or you are too stupid to defend them. In either case you have no right to force them on students who have expressed their wish to attend a lecture by doing so.

@kjr81201991@Goatsilla Check your statistics. Transwomen in the US and UK are less likely to be killed than women. Transwomen are men. Their presence in female spaces increases the risk for women.
@shadeycat247@Goatsilla Sadly, I think it is you who is confusing sex and gender. Sex is immutable both biologically and legally. Gender is an idea in your mind, largely formed from stereotypes.
@joss_prior@akuareindorf One student said: "Protestors could’ve asked sharp questions and challenged him. They say it doesn’t matter because he won’t change his mind. But let us make up our own minds! Instead we’re just told to shut up and blindly follow the activists. It’s extremely patronising.”
Well this is quite something 🤯
An actual MP telling me, a male homosexual, I’m “attacking” an oppressed group for not believing that men can be lesbians and women can be gay men
Samantha, there is nothing ‘strange’ about simply acknowledging what homosexuality is and isn’t. In fact it is imperative we do so to protect our rights
Para 204 of the Supreme Court ruling makes it very clear that the protected characteristic of sexual orientation is based on sex
Para 206 makes it very clear that this PC, and thus homosexuality, is rendered meaningless when not recognised as being based on sex
If you recognise that gays and lesbians and bisexuals are an oppressed group who still face adversity, how can we stand up for ourselves if simply acknowledging what homosexuality is gets us framed as “attackers”?
How can we even begin to tackle the modern version of adversity that seeks to reframe homosexuality to include those of the opposite sex? That has seen lesbians having to go to court in the UK and Australia simply to maintain the legal recognition of homosexuality (or in the case of Australia find a way to claw it back)? That has seen a lesbian brought to tears at a tribunal when asked why males can’t be lesbians?
How on earth can you take issue with me saying that men can’t be lesbians???
And how can you claim to be aware of the historic fight for gay rights while not having any awareness (or lacking the courage to acknowledge it) of how for at least the last decade these have been under threat from ‘gender’?
Don’t pretend to know our struggle if you can’t even say what a homosexual is
I mean… seriously!
A man won in a court of law because he wasn't allowed on 1 app, even though there are millions of apps out there for him.
One app. An app that had nothing on it for him. The only reason he wanted on is because he wasn't allowed on.
So he smashed it all to pieces in a tantrum.
@joannacuddle@NubiBlue@akuareindorf@EHRC That’s your unevidenced assertion. In practice I think that’s unlikely - a question is not a form of abuse. On the other hand there is plenty of evidence that the presence of trans-identified men in women-only spaces is experienced by many women as abusive.
@joannacuddle@NubiBlue@akuareindorf@EHRC But the person in this photo is clearly female even in a still photo, and the difference between males and females is even more obvious in personal encounters.
The only one coping here is you. If you want to say that you’re a woman, I can’t stop you. No one can. However, you are not entitled to force the rest of us to agree with what is very obviously your opinion.
I am a woman because I am female. You “are a woman” because you say you are. It is not the same thing. Nothing I or anyone else can do will make me cease being a woman. Your “womanhood” only exists when it is acknowledged, and if someday you choose to detransition, it will cease to exist at all in the twinkling of an eye.
My womanhood doesn’t have to be insisted upon or disclosed. I don’t need a pronoun pin. Every person who sees me knows exactly what I am — and dude, they know what you are too.
My womanhood is an objective, physical reality that is evident whether I announce its existence or not. It will outlive me, and can be scientifically tested for. It is not dependent on clothing, the length of my hair, or the state of my makeup. I will still very obviously be a woman if dead, unconscious, and/or naked. My claim to womanhood is an biological, quantifiable, observable reality. Your “womanhood” exists solely within the confines of your head, and the rest of us are supposed to just believe you.
Well, that’s not how it works. You can’t force people to believe things that can’t be objectively verified, or to agree with your opinions. That’s like forcing people to follow your religion, and we don’t do that in a free society.
I am a woman - an adult female human being. You are a man who wishes he wasn’t male. We are not the same, and we never will be. Womanhood is not a commodity you can buy
@DrAlice03@IgorRriabov@RichardDawkins I agree. I was attempting sarcasm since clearly that scenario will never happen, but like most sarcasm it didn’t work well :-)
A truly magnificent speech by Councillor Sarah Field at the Declaration of Sex Based Rights at Leeds Civic Hall.
"If your feminism prioritises the internal identifications of men over the material conditions of women then you are not a feminist."

@wmallen2024@Mark_J_Perry One must first realize that women’s athletic scholarships are a quota required by Title IX to balance the scholarships provided for revenue generating mens’ sports. Then one sees that every women’s scholarship granted to a man, was denied to a woman.
@IgorRriabov@RichardDawkins When science evolves enough so that men have the capacity to gestate and birth babies they conceive with eggs they produce themselves, then men will be women.
Except for the 6,346 1st place finishes and the 10,888 top three finishes that boys and men have stolen from girls and women, in well documented female sports events.
Except for the 678 well documented female records broken by boys and men, including 39 world records.
Except for the well documented 927 females who were robbed of $2,469,176 in prize money, by males.
In the spring of 2025, 12 State high School girls' championships in Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, California, and Washington, were won by boys. AB Hernandez was one of them, he and others struck again this year, including Becky Pepper Jackson, a boy who just won the WV State Girls' Championship in shot put.
Thousands of girls and women have been displaced in their own sports, by boys and men. Many have been sanctioned, threatened, and banned, for complaining about it.
