The #StateOfNature report is clear: our wildlife is in trouble. Moths are in decline. They need help, right now. We don't have time to waste. We can all play a part: in our gardens, on our farms, in our developments. We have to do better https://t.co/bcYv6lOZNW @savebutterflies
I've been getting Bloxworth Snout, Hypena obsitalis, in the garden for a few years now. Last night I caught 2 in the actinic including this superbly fresh one.

Another 3 new moths for my Bewdley garden this week in Worcestershire; Olive-tree Pearl (3), Rusty-dot Pearl (2) and Varied Ochre, plus my favourite moth, Merveille du Jour, 3 last night #teammoth#MothsMatter@BritishMoths
There's a lot of late moths around. Yesterday I caught a fresh Flame Shoulder. Never even had an October one before. Here it is, on the left, with a Radford's Flame Shoulder (25 Oct) for comparison. Both Driffield, East Yorkshire. @DoubleKidney@BC_Yorkshire@BritishMoths
Merville de jour amongst the final moth trap finds @WWTWelney today. Also, L-Album Wainscot, Feathered thorn, Angles shades, Red-line quaker, Beaded chestnut, Mallow and a few others.
Let us know what your favourite moth is 🦋
A few #moths from the cliff trap in #Guernsey last night, things I don't see so much at home.
Star moths were 4 x Brindled Ochre, 12 x Feathered Brindle, Mallow, 6 Scarce Bordered Straw and 27 Radford's Flame Shoulder. The only micro was Rusty Dot which is a shame.
Late decision to put out the MV trap last night, 10 species, 2 of which were new for my Bewdley garden; Streak and Frosted Tortrix (Exapate congelatella), two photos of each in different light #teammoth#MothsMatter@BritishMoths
Radford's Flame Shoulder to light, Driffield, East Yorkshire last night. 78/30 moths. With the first for Yorkshire at Spurn earlier this week and another at N Ferriby last night, how many more are in Yorkshire right now? @DoubleKidney@BC_Yorkshire@BritishMoths@MigrantMothUK
