Like a book library, but instead you can #borrow tools, camping gear, sport equipment and much more! Building a #degrowth & #CircularEconomy.

📣📣📣 As many of you know, we have been busy trying to find a new home. Today, we can announce that… we collected the key of a new place to call home for the time being! We will continue to serve the community! ✊ More info soon! Thanks everyone!

2 years and 209 loans later - Our member’s Canoe project is complete! When our member (a university student) first joined our tool library he had no prior knowledge of using tools. We are blown away by his persistence and dedication to learning a new craft! #circulareconomy

Last year Prime Minister (@AlboMP) was lucky enough to shake the hand of one of our volunteers! In recognition of her volunteering at our #toollibrary, our Mary Thatcher, was shortlisted for the 2022 ETU apprentice of the year. Join us and you'll get to shake Mary's hand too!#IWD

When we started in 2017, in QLD, tool libraries were a new, unexplored, model. Today, not only we have shown that this model works, but we have also contributed to have tool libraries included in the e-Products Action Plan of the @QldGov. Provide a feedback by 17.04 link below.

"...the goals of the Action Plan are to extend the life of e-products through reuse, repair, refurbishment, and recovery to keep the value of materials in the economy for as long as possible." @LGWiseman @BrizToolLibrary #righttorepair #ewaste

It's World Book Day and almost International Women's Day - so I can't resist a shout out to many of the amazing thinkers, doers & changemakers who inspire me every day, and who just happen to be women. #WorldBookDay #IWD23

Hey @katejonesqld to solve a problem before it becomes one, how about 10-20k to give @BrizToolLibrary and/or the #SLQEdge @slqld some 3D Printer Filament recyclers to produce prototyping filament for schools and reduce PETG and PLA waste as 3D printing continues to increase?

The ⁦@BrizToolLibrary⁩ initiated by ⁦@SabrinaChakori⁩ is a great working model of alternative living styles that don’t involve growth in human impact on our fragile life support systems. https://t.co/Ih61uLBSQw

Great to be mentioned in this article as one of the 80 @postgrowth inspiring groups working to create an equitable, regenerative, post-capitalist future for all. In need of inspiration and alternative enterprises actually creating an impact? Check this article :)

"I was born into this environmental crisis. I'd rather be doing something else than talking about degrowth"

The environmental crisis is not something coming in the future. It's impacting us today.

How can we have a vibrant society without constant growth?

Even the SDG's have 'Economic Growth' as a virtue!

1. Measure what matters.
2. Change values, don't just try to produce the same things more efficiently
3. Rethink work
4. True democracy

The problem with the word #anthroprocene is that it assumes all people impact the world equally.

@SabrinaChakori says it should maybe be called the #capitalprocene

Or even the #necrocene: the age of death and extinction as a result of capitalist accumulation.

Check out the Newkind Conference, which is an annual social change empowerment event! Dr @SabrinaChakori and Dr @KTrebeck will introduce you to #Degrowth. Program and the tickets options (which are very inclusive) https://t.co/GiwQ36y6kp

[BrisbaneToolLibrary @BrizToolLibrary]

@SabrinaChakori will run a workshop at #IslandVibe Festival. She will untangle the underlying drivers of the current social and ecological challenges and she will discuss how #degrowth invites us to rethink society’s structures and dynamics.
