We Must Not Allow What Happened To Port Harcourt To Happen To Lagos

Port Harcourt city of the 90s and early 2000s was the most prosperous city in Nigeria

If you wanted to earn real cash and live good, port Harcourt was your only destination.

Port Harcourt was like an extension of some European cities.

I can say it was the poshest city in Nigeria back then. Especially when Odili came in and the Garden City hype was on

There were Jobs all over Port Harcourt. If you couldn't get a Job, it means you did not have a skill or the high grade degree for it and that's no one's fault.

In Rumubekwe estate alone, I could count 5 Oil and Gas Servicing Companies. The most popular one then was Petronella. Their workers would all get the latest Bora cars and Ceilo Daewoo. All fresh. Even Oilserv I think is still in Rumubekwe estate

There's a reason why things are relatively expensive in port Harcourt. It's because people always afforded them. Money was there.

There were over 15 foreign oil and gas companies in Port Harcourt alone and there were over 50 solid local servicing companies breaking even

What happened?
Asari Dokubo and his likes happened.

They woke up one morning and began to incite indigenous youths against these companies. Violence started

They thought they were hurting these companies, not knowing they were hurting the state itself.

Today, oil and gas Jobs are not sufficient in port Harcourt anymore. The supporting Jobs that depended on oil and gas Jobs are gone. The businesses that thrive on Oil and gas Jobs are suffering.

This is something we must prevent for Lagos. Lagos is the economic lifeline of Nigeria and if we do not stop these agberos and omoniles who are victimising creators , land owners and other businesses, I'm scared Lagos might get an Asari Dokubo soon and it will go bad

This is the reason I am disappointed in every south easterner I personally know who supports Nnamdi Kanu.

The billions of dollars in investment that's been chased from the south east since that nigga started his funny thing is uncountable.

The Jobs that would have been created in the south east? All gone.

Keep supporting violent losers with no personal track record of themselves.

Who was Asari Dokubo before militancy?

What did he achieve in any sector before militancy?

What has been his level of intellect on any social issues?
