It's tiring explaining basic concepts to you. Look, modders are not a single gelatinous being. They're individuals. Some support paid mods. Some don't. Some want to make it a career. Some just want the hobby. You don't get to unilaterally decide, on everyone's behalf, who should get to profit, what structure they share, or why. It doesn't belong to you. It's not your business, not your conern, not your intellectual property, not your game. It couldn't have less to do with you if it fucking tried lmao. Profit is how companies grow and advance. How they produce more games. Better games. More advanced games. You have this childish and incoherent ideology that equates profit with evil. It's not. Grow up, do some real thinking, and then get back to me when you're done. Actually don't. I don't a shit.
@TheReopracity@JuiceHead33 Of course I did. See because the things i'm saying are true and reflective of reality while you're speaking nonsense. Glad I could help!

Wow, because how dare they create a system where modders can willingly opt in to profit. A possibility that didn't exist before Bethesda gave it to them. It might be a crazy concept to you but a lot of people like having the option of turning something they love into a potential career. This shouldn't need to be said but most mods are still going to be free. The only time that mods are paid is if modders willingly decide to join the program in order to do so. If you don't like paid muds don't buy them. Wow! Problem solved...
No. They haven't. Beliefs and facts are two different things. I don't care what you "personally think." Bethesda created and owns the games and the creation kit. They literally made them bud. It belongs to them. Modders literally have to willingly choose to join the Verified Creator Program before any of their mods become paid. The vast majority of mods will still be free. "ScUmMy PrAcTiCeS" ๐๐. Enlighten me. What scummy practices?
You can make up a narrative if you want to, but don't drag me down with you. I like living in the real world. Not in your weird paranoia nightmare where everyone's out to get you. They literally built their entire platform around the possibility of mods. They refuse to abandon the Creation engine because it is the best engine on earth for modders. Period. End of argument. They've talked endlessly about providing career opportunities for modders and have hired many of them personally. If you're gonna waste more time typing a response to this, please make sure that whatever you say, actually contribute something value to the conversation. Otherwise don't bother. โ๏ธโ๏ธ
No they absolutely should not. There isn't a single creation platform in the world, available for free, that doesn't have a shared revenue system. The ability to mod Bethesda games would not exist without Bethesda's creation. It's their intellectual property and they have every legal and moral right to earn a profit from every commercial use of it. Period. I don't know where you exist but it's not the real world.
And why shouldn't it? It's Bethesda's game. Bethesda's engine. Bethesdas entire creation. They've provided modders with numerous opportunities to create full careers, which some have, and they've hired modders numerous times. Regardless of what people think or say, Bethesda has not ever mistreated its modders or its fans. The only possible way you can think that as if you think that profit is inherently bad. You're fair to think this but it's a completely incoherent ideology because without that profit none of these companies would exist to begin with.
1. False. The quest story designs are the best they've ever done. It's not even close. 2. Literlly a lie. There's generic fetch quests sure, but there's also dozens upon dozens of hours of fully handcrafted side quests with choice and consequence that are more interesting by themselves than some games are in their entirety. You could say the exact same thing about ANY rpg about fetch quests.
At the end of the day I can defend whatever game I want for any reason. The reason I CHOOSE to defend Starfield Is because a very large percentage of the criticism is absolutely asinine. Like brain dead ridiculous. For example making sweeping statements like "Starfield is a step backwards" when every single system in the game, outside of pure exploration, is a massive evolution on anything they've previously done. They expanded every system they use. Dialogue is better. The structure of story telling is massively improved. Voice acting is easily the highest quality they've ever had. Graphics are better. Animations are better. Easily the best gun combat they've ever produced. The attention to small detail is better. Characters have a lot more to say. Even side characters who don't matter, adding to immersion and story depth. Companions are improved. Outpost building is a huge step up. Not to mention the big one, ship building, which is an awesome system.
Your subjective opinion, while completely wrong, isn't the same as an objective fact. There are far more handcrafted locations and story missions than any of their previous games put together. That is an objective, measurable fact. The quality of those spaces is NOT lower. Not even a little bit. In terms of pure design, especially interior design, their games have never looked better than this. Yes, there are a lot of "generic" procedurally generated environmental spaces but, for one, You never have to visit those places unless you choose to and, two, even those spaces can look fantastic depending on the planet and biome. That's completely irrelevant, though because the amount of interesting and personally handcrafted ones is still more than quadruple the number of any of their previous games.
I don't agree. I like Starfield far better than Fallout. It's not even a competition for me. You also named 4 of the best video games out right now with 2 of them being some of the best video games ever made. You think it's unacceptable if a video game doesn't hold up to the top 1% of 1% of games? That's a ridiculous standard lmao. For me it holds up to all of them very easily, but if not for you, that's not crazy. Again. Top 1%. I know this might be a crazy concept for you but games can still be fantastic and not be in the top 1%.
If the game wasn't exactly what you were expecting then you're the problem. It's a Bethesda game. It plays like a Bethesda game. Every single one of their systems got an evolution. There is nothing about it whatsoever that does not hold up to modern AAA titles. That argument makes no sense at all and you cannot justify it under any circumstances.
That's exactly the problem. There's nothing out of touch about the game. It is structured in the exact way that bethesda fans want bethesda games to be. It is exactly in touch with their actual fan base. The only thing that I would like to see added is potentially some kind of ground vehicle and some form of real time space travel. Outside of that, the game is exactly what I was hoping for as a long time Bethesda fan
It also had the largest most successful launch in Bethesda History. Again, the only meaning you can squeeze out of your life is negativiy. If you had anything else of value to offer, you wouldn't waste your time screaming hate into an online void of people who don't give a shit about you.
Oh right. Except I didn't mock you for taking the time to comment. I mocked you for taking the time to defend people being hateful and threatening. Again there is a difference between criticism and hate. I'm not gonna babysit you into being a normal person. If you need someone to wipe your ass for you that's on you.
