@Timcast This type of thing happens all the time. How do you think books ever make it into the NY times bestseller list?
Best selling music singles?
Like Tim said the other day, everything is fake.
Same game.
This is the actual truth. Alcohol is a kind of totem around which social circles and rituals form. Remove the sacred object, the ritual loses meaning, and the circle of friends loses its primary bond. The may be the hardest part to give up, rather than the substance itself- however leaving becomes easier with age and some healthy hobbies outside of the bar.
So much fun this one. They really take their time with the pre-flight setup, and boarding the plane with all the kooky 70’s dialogue. There’s a lot of “acting as actors in real life” which is great Hollywood with a mirror stuff. The little subplot involving “American Graffiti” is a kick. The cast is really a blast.
The layout of the 747 is just insane by today’s standards, with all the swiveling seats and lounge areas, hard to believe they ever configured planes like that. This one is worth a watch, maybe the best of all 4 Airport movies.
I watched this again recently for the first time in about a decade, this time on blu ray. It has its place but it’s so corny. The costumes are so bad. Storyline and arc are OK. Meh on the acting- The old guy they find in the ruins of D.C. is so hard to take after about two minutes… I love 70’s experimentation but this one is full of stink. Oh the shopping mall!
Strangely though, it’s compelling enough to get through for some quality I can’t put my finger on and that’s why I guess it sticks around despite its flaws. in another decade I’ll probably watch it again.
I believe https://t.co/v6wEjKmFh1 has been around since the late 90’s… if memory serves Apple added time synchronization with that default address in MacOS 9, maybe 8. It was around the same era that they added in automatic updates - all of this was in the last iterations of the classic MacOS, before OS X.
The Governor of Illinois becoming president and then having the Federal Government bail out Illinois, and probably California as well, is a likely, if unfortunate, solution.
Meaning all of the relatively fiscally responsible states will end up footing the bill for decades of financial mismanagement and cronyism in Springfield.
@MurrayHillGuy1 It’s complete disrespect on her part and clearly intentional. Total disrespect on her part - sooner he accepts that and drops her like a rock the better.
Strongest thing he can do is say FTB and move on.
