Management at QMUL are asking students to snitch on members of staff if they speak about why they are on strike
This is another disgraceful attempt at intimidating workers taking lawful industrial action

‘Undermining the humanities is not a substitute for workforce planning, or a stimulus to innovation.’ Excellent editorial from The @guardian on threatened cuts @BirkbeckUoL @UnivEnglish @EnglishAssoc @ArtsandHums https://t.co/svnYDDkpIj
Also jeopardising a precious mission, which in our current turbulent and disturbing times, we have never needed more.
As radical educator Paolo Friere writes, education ‘makes it possible for students to become themselves’, we must #SaveBirkbeck https://t.co/yX8JS9lTbr
“…arts & humanities students are the “ideal entrepreneurs” of the future, digitally literate, ready to thrive in a globally diverse world, resilient, confident at analysis & team working, independently minded’ …Birkbeck is ideally placed to lead on this. “
Amidst our difficulties, there is still a fantastic BA English degree + MA degrees that have been revamped + will still be running from October 2023. One of the best ways to #SaveBirkbeck is to recommend us, point students towards us. Link to BA prog:

Our management are insisting that ETCW is a dying department. It turns out that the figures tell a different story. Birkbeck's student numbers are at 73% of what they were in 2016. Our numbers? 85%.
Calling for testimonials from precarious researchers in UK French Studies on the methodological shifts precipitated by precarity - deadline Dec 16th.
@jrillingworth & I are seeking to document the creativity & ingenuity of ECRs in the face of adversity.⬇️
It's a wonderful department. More testimonials from former students, staff, external examiners, etc will help management to see just how valued, and valuable, it is. @EnglishAssoc@IES_London
We are working together with @UnivEnglish and @IES_London to strongly oppose threatened job losses at @BirkbeckUoL :In support of colleagues at Birkbeck | The English Association https://t.co/qIFNstvEjl
