Let Jones and Lombard play now. Yankee line-up as it stands is futile. What's the worst that could happen? Score very little or no runs? They're doing that now. At least the defense will be better. Maybe Jones goes on a HR tear. Lombard secures SS for 10 years. Just do it!

He’s a serviceable bat, contact first, and he’s got pop.

@YankeesRealist Lombard will be the SS moving forward very soon. You’re right about Rosario… they’re gonna have to trust McMahon. Take what he can give on offense and at least breathe easier when a ball is hit to third

@BombChelleNY Agree. You’d think the lefty/lefty thing 2would take a backseat to putting the best defense out there. Jones is a plus defender. He should be playing. We’re gonna struggle to put up runs until we’re healthy… so you’d THINK preventing runs via defense would be a top priority 🤷‍♂️

@LombardIsKing_ Personally, I think there are plenty of ways to assert himself as Captain without shitting on his teammates. Absolutely nobody except Hal is “above his pay grade” when it comes to the Yankees. So, his words matter. He could have said much more without shitting on his teammates
