Hi Crime Watch, please hide my ID.
I am a Level 2.2 (August-December 2026) student at Midlands State University (MSU), pursuing a three-year degree programme and Iβm personally affected by this situation.
At MSU, students who do not pay their fees by the stipulated deadline are blocked from writing examinations and are forced to defer whether you like it or not.
My concern is losing an entire year simply because I could not pay my fees on time.
Iβm struggling to pay my own fees, ndirikutobatanidza, sometimes fellow students chip in to help from their own little.. I want to continue with my studies however and losing a full year is a serious inconvenience , especially considering that I am already in my second year of a three-year degree programme.
1. Does anyone know what the Government or Ministry says about universities barring students from examinations because of outstanding fees?
2. Is this permitted?
3. Is there any law, policy or regulation that provides for alternative payment arrangements or other options instead of a student having to defer for a full year?
Iβm simply seeking clarity on what the law and Government policy say and what options may be available to students in this situation.
Thank you kune wese achabatsira.
