Want students to remember something? Ask them to draw it! Research shows that drawing boosts learning by forcing us to process information in multiple ways.
"But God, who spoke into being the heavens and the earth, utters no empty words. When He says, 'Live,' He imparts life; His word has the force of an irresistible command. To Him no life is worthless."

Listened to fellow educators speak at a turnaround ceremony tonight - teachers who genuinely believe in their students and the students forever changed by the teacher standing beside them. To all who think public education doesn't matter - YOU. ARE. WRONG.
I simply can't fathom teaching reading without giving students the opportunity to read a just-right-book. It would be like a swim coach teaching swimmers without ever letting them get in the water. Time spent in a book is crucial to a reader's success.
