[Good news!]
Reading through the judgement of the legal case that a TERF brought against her employer has made reassuring reading. The employment tribunal ruled that absolutist anti-trans beliefs are not protected as a philosophical belief under the Equality Act!
Anyone who supports or endorses hate groups like LGB Alliance and Woman’s Place UK is a transphobe. Anyone who promotes their messages is harming trans people. No two ways about it.
It’s great that @obuarts made the decision to not host a transphobic artist who supports hate group LGB Alliance today. The artist claims she may be invited back so we encourage students & staff to keep the pressure on @oxford_brookes! Solidarity @BrookesLGBTQ#OxfordBrookes
@lucywarin @oxford_brookes Definitely and it’s remarkable how so many people have portrayed this as if have some dark, shadowy influence leading us to do this. The moment we found out about this, we acted on our own initiative to protect our students. We bear no guilt or remorse for doing so
One city, two universities. One which listens to its students and pledges to protect them from hate speech (@oxford_brookes) and one which doesn’t, and instead leaves its trans community feeling unwanted and vulnerable (@UniofOxford). Shame on Oxford University once again.
TERF artist Rachel Ara will speak at #OxfordBrookes university tomorrow.
Giving transphobes a uni platform is unacceptable. We encourage students & staff to picket & raise complaints with @obuarts at https://t.co/EKpXhr7cyc - campus must be safe for everyone.

A couple of weeks ago, we released an open letter about the @UniofOxford's decision to host A Woman's Place on its premises. We've had a response from Vice-Chancellor Louise Richardson, and it's a damning indictment of the University’s failure to protect trans students. 1/
Yesterday, hundreds of people came out in solidarity with trans people in Oxford. Hundreds of people stood with us in the rain and the cold. Hundreds of people joined us in a chorus of defiance and resistance.
This is what Oxford looks like. This is what solidarity looks like.
Join us for Museum Late Night: Diversity on Friday 15 November when @LGBTHM 2020 will be launched @Pitt_Rivers - a pride-filled evening of talks, tours, poetry, music & more! Everyone welcome! 7-10pm. Book your free ticket at https://t.co/xW0khdfyP9

‘More than one in 10 transgender people say they've been pressured by a professional counselor to accept their birth sex.’ Many transgender people pressured with 'conversion therapy' https://t.co/rhbmzxSV5O via @upi
I’ve been living with diagnosed #HIV since I was 31.
Without effective treatment I probably wouldn’t have made it into my 40s.
Today I turn 52.
HIV has changed.
Tell everyone.
