New Master Mason in @radnorlodge in @wiltspgl, priest in small-town England, mostly charmed by the Craft while aware it's a human institution with human flaws!
Honestly, don't look up the first degree ritual online before going through the ceremony. I knew little, only what everyone knows through popular culture, and had the time of my life: only wish I'd known even less. Mystery and surprise are what make it so powerful.
The @radnorlodge Installation tonight. 5 30 pm tile, we sat down for Festive Board at 8 and I'm already on the road (as a passenger) heading for home. Nothing felt rushed. A festive board in 1¾ hours is actually possible.
Alex is walking from Little Drayton to Lichfield. He’s leaving Christ Church on Friday 23rd August and will arrive Lichfield Cathedral on the Sunday 25th.
Christ Church is in need of essential repairs, especially a big crack in the tower.

#Freemasonry certainly seems to be thriving in Iceland. I noticed this large and well-kept hall in Selfoss when I drove past it on holiday in Iceland in April. #freemason#frimurarareglan 4/4
Have just discovered that Sveinn Björnsson, the first President of Iceland, was a brother—as well as being one of the most significant statesmen the island nation has ever produced. #freemason#frimurarareglan 1/4
Have just discovered that Harry Corbett, the puppeteer who created Sooty, was a brother: initiated into the Chevin Lodge No. 6848 in @WYFreemasons. He was the lodge organist for some time. @UGLE_GrandLodge
In Ludgershall Masonic Hall, for the first time, to visit Border Lodge No 3129. Slowly working my way round all @wiltspgl venues. A treat to hear the Walking Charge performed so well by a visiting brother from @HantsMason.
John Wood the Elder, architectural genius behind much of Georgian Bath, was a freemason who had masonic symbols carved into many of his buildings. On a grander scale, his masterpiece, The Circus, intentionally forms a key shape with neighbouring Queens Sq and Gay St. @PGLSomerset
Proud to receive my 2028 @wiltspgl festival jewel at @radnorlodge from the Provincial Grand Charity Steward tonight. All yours for the cost of a small monthly standing order to @Masonic_Charity. @pgm_pglwilts Charity - it's in a Freemason's DNA.
Taggart, our latest @guidedogs puppy came to visit Radnor Lodge for our Christmas dinner last night, and even brought some of his friends!
A thoroughly enjoyable evening, with lots of charity money raised at the raffle.
Thanks to the stewards from @Stonehenge_6114 also!
Just back from Salisbury for a visit to The City Lodge No 5955 - sorry, was too imaginationally exhausted to take a relevant photo. I also just discovered that Unicode provides for an actual goat emoji!🐐
