Christ didn't just die for us, He lived our pains so He could perfectly understand, heal, and draw us close. His Atonement bridges every gap, turning brokenness into harmony with Him.

Because of this at-one-ment, I can repent, feel His love, and realign my orbit when I drift. He is the light and gravity that holds everything together. #LDS

Understanding the 8th Article of Faith:

When Joseph Smith wrote "we believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly" (1842), modern readers often assume he meant Greek-to-English accuracy.

Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary reveals a deeper 19th-century meaning: In 1828, "translate" meant more than swapping languages.

Webster defined it as:
1. To express the sense of one language in another
2. To interpret
3. To explain

In the 1840s, "translation" wasn't just about manuscript grammar or changing what is written from one language to another. It was about whether the TRUE divine intent successfully crossed the bridge to the reader—without loss, corruption, or misconstruction along the way.

If two people read the exact same English Bible verse:

• Person X explains it as A
• Person Y explains it as B

In 1840s terms, both offered a "translation" (an unravelling of the text's sense).

If Person Y hit the true divine intent, their translation was "correct."

The 8th Article of Faith isn't just a critique of 17th-century translators.
It’s a criterion for divine truth: scripture is God’s word where its original intent is preserved, accurately delivered, and correctly understood.

I stayed awake. The session knocked my socks off. The spirit was so strong in the room, I could really feel what gathering Israel felt like.

“If I trusted Him more, what would I do next?”
