Black writers are writing and pitching shows. They are not being bought. Most can’t get in a room. That is the reality now, especially with less shows being made overall. I know, I know… do it on your own thing. If you want to be on a major network, it has to be bought by one.
Jordan Peele had a script after his 2022 horror/sci-fi NOPE and the plan was to direct it under his Monkeypaw banner.

If you’re not going to open up the door for me here, I think enough about the work that I have created to go out and say we’re going to do it ourselves. We’re four-walling this thing ourselves because we refuse for you not to see it.’”
