Your brain is influenced by self-talk. It isn't designed to be positive or negative, it's designed to repeat patterns.
If you repeatedly tell yourself, “I can do this,” and focus on what you can control, those patterns become easier to access over time. The same works in the opposite direction. What you repeatedly practice mentally or physically can slowly become familiar.
choose your thoughts wisely.
Shopify billionaire co-founder & CEO Tobi Lütke — one of the most analytically rigorous founders alive — uses affirmations.
His exact words:
"If you tell yourself or write down something about yourself 100 times, it writes into the neurofrontal cortex at such a deep level that your brain will start reconciling you to that. It just works."
His personal example:
He was terrified of public speaking.
For one week he sat down every day for 10 minutes and wrote: "I love public speaking."
A week later the fear was gone.
"It's not like a placebo. You just actively change your neurofrontal cortex in this moment."
Your brain starts shaping your behavior around the identity you rehearse most.
The exhaustion you feel during early discipline is neuroplasticity in motion, because the brain burns significantly more energy building new pathways than maintaining old ones, and what feels like resistance is often just the cost of becoming mentally stronger.
If you do only "one thing" today or in the coming week. Please get clear about what you want in the coming years.
Crystal clear. You can see it. You know what it looks like.
This is the vision to filter every decision around, every day, until you get there.
I used to be a chronic procrastinator and it left me an absolute shell of a human. doing things immediately and with intense urgency was truly the cure. you think of an idea and you write it down instantly. you think of someone and you text them on the spot. even a mundane task like putting your laundry away gets done the second it appears. stop leaving things for later. just do it now
@blthfc@TheSpursExpress@MikeVerweij U do realise our wage structure had to be broken to progress. We couldn’t attract players previously and lacked on the field. You’re probably the same guy complaining about not signing good players

I find that my life improves a lot when I shrink the time horizon. Instead of worrying about long-term goals, I just focus on the next hour. Do one thing that moves me forward. One closed loop. One workout. One hard conversation. One whatever. Thinking about how to build a successful life is daunting. How can you have a successful day? How can you win this hour? Do that. Then do it again. Momentum is a byproduct of movement.
If you want to change, you have to become conscious of your unconscious patterns. You have to catch yourself in the act of being the old self. And then you have to choose differently. Not once. A thousand times. Until the new choice becomes the new default.
@alex_thfc22 Its not just the injury status, its our hope they hit top form this year and build some rhythm together. What are the chances we ever see a top performing group of Kudus, Maddison, Xavi, Solanke and Kulu? 0% right?
Thats a problem.
If Mikey Moore doesn't end up making it after all the hype and talent he has - surely we just have to give up hyping up these talents.. Ledley King / Kane the last players that made it...
