Early grad & work should NOT be mandatory - not all will be able to do this (need to finish reqs, preexisting cond, etc). But SHOULD be prioritized as option. If ACGME protests and admin barriers prevent this & exacerbate provider shortage during pandemic, that is upsetting. 4/4

Starting residency early would be complicated. So why not grad early and let us work at alma mater med centers until June? We know the system, have data access, have done training and health screens already. We have skills to see low-risk inpts, outpt visits, ED as MDs today. 3/4
