#OTDH 5 June 1825. Marc Brunel orders a further 8000 bricks to be added to the top of the Thames Tunnel Shaft. When the bricks don't force the shaft to move, he orders more bricks...and more...and more... 50, 000 bricks later and the Tunnel Shaft is still stuck!
